B12

I'm 10 months out, down 146 lbs but my energy level the last couple of weeks is zilch! I went to a new PCP and he ran blood work on me and said my B12 range was "normal" but on the low end of normal, only in the 200 range. He wanted to check it again and possibly up my B12 to a weekly shot instead of a monthly shot. What are the symptoms of low B12? Thanks for any input! HUGS Kim

the symptoms are tiredness, tingling or numbness in extremities, loss of appetite, etc. i have read that the american standard for b12 is too low, that it should be more like 600 rather than 200, so i would definitely go for the weekly shots. i do 1000mcg sublinguals daily and my levels are really good.

I have been tired lately but my iron levels are dropping. Are the 2 related at all? I take a good sub-lingual myself and test just fine but still feel tired. Any ideas?

See now I am just the opposite. I just found out that both my B12 and Folic Acid Levels are dangerously low and my protein/hemoglobin is high, hes not concerned about the hemoglobin but is about the B12 and Folate. So I am now on B12 shots daily for 5 days then weekly for a month then monthly for who knows and 1mg of Folic Acid daily. But I have to say I am not tired... have none of the symptoms you are listing.
