I'm 160 to 165 fluxuating from my pre-surgery weight of 242 & wearing a 16 also and delighted since before the surgery I was in 24 & 26!!!!!! I'm wearing my husbands blue jeans, too, and he got mad because I had the last clean pair on!!!!!! Last week, I needed black dress for funeral and bought a nice black jersey top with a soft draped neck line, an A line skirt with a black jet beaded loose belt on the hips. the hem came to the tops of my calf and some really cute Mary Jane black slippers with a double strap. My feet have lost weight, too. I was able to buy 8 1/2 regulars and not the 9 1/2 wides I was having to buy last year! Thank you Walmart for the nice selection of size 16 dresses to chose from. It's so nice to be in a normal sized dress. I actually was a little self conscious about being in the Misses section looking for a dress. It's been ssssssooooo long! The first thing my son said when he saw me was: "WOW, Mom, you really look great!" I was so pleased!!! My 23rd wedding anniversary is next week and I'm going to surprize my dear husband with my new dress! Becca Gary & Rebecca Schuppener Konza Pugs & Morgans Holton KS www.konzapugs.com

Hi Michelle, I know its no constillation but just look at where we started!! Youve come a long way!! And congrats on your hard work!! I started in 22-24. At 270 and 5'6". I am now down to 184 and wearing 12 pants and large to xlarge tops. Some 14s fit but hey,,,who wants to put on a 14 when ya can fit into a 12!! I am excited!! A friend of mine gave me a pair of Levis that were stretch but they were a size 8. I was like yea right!! over my big toe maybe!! Well I tried them on and got them up...just not buttoned!!! haha!! my conclusion was that they were sized wrong!!! lol!! Oh well I can at least say I have an 8!!! lol!! Keep up the good work and dont be so hard on yourself!! Youve done wonderful and you look great!! As for my shape...not sure.. I have lost the shelf that I carried on my backside tho!!! I have noticed the same thing. It is difficult to compare yourself to others since I am sure we all wear our clothes differently. I hate it when anything hugs my body. I am currently 5"6", 198 lbs. apple heading to hourglass, a size 18/20 top and between a 14 and 16 in bottoms depending on what they are. Jean

I am 5'7" weigh 176 and wear a M or 8-10 in tees and a 10-12 or L blouse and a 8-10 jeans and 10-12 slacks. I am large framed (broad shoulders, large hands and wrists etc) and think that why I am able to fit the smaller sizes even though my weight is still up there. I guess that technically I am an hour glass shape but since my boobs have vanished I would say I am more a rectangle *lol* I hace gone from 46 C to a 36 B ugh!! Jeannie 315-175->155

yeah, i'm medium framed (at least by wrist measurement) so my weight is probably more bulked than yours. i am however very thankful that my already small boobs (42B or occasionally C depending on the fit) have stayed put. they're a little saggy and my B cups don't fit as snugly as they once did, but it's not a huge difference. at least now i'm finally back in the 30's--it was so hard to find B cups in band sizes over 40! (i'm now a 38B)

You know--I can see jsut where you are coming from Michelle. I feel like I should be further down teh road than where I am at now but for what it is worth it has been one hell of a ride. Currently I am: I have came from a 28-30 pants down to a 18-20 pants. I have went from a 28-30 shirt to a 22-24 shirt (or basically a good 2X} I tend to be a bit more on the pear shaped myself but I do hope it breaks in time. becky 390/275/???

I'm also 5'7.5" tall, and currently weigh about 204. I wear a size 16 jeans if they are stretch, size 18 if not, though they're baggy in the ass and thighs. I'm a total apple shape. On top I wear a 16 or 18, although I'm wearing mostly sweaters these days as my upper arms aren't the same size and I have trouble fitting my right upper arm into blouses. All that extra skin just makes them too tight! And if I buy a bigger blouse they bad and look horrible. I wear a regular size XL or L in sweaters, depending on how baggy I want them. Regular pants and skirts I can wear a 16 or 18, or sometimes a 14W depending on the cut and shape. There's no rhyme or reason to this. I don't expect to ever get below 170 as I'm really muscular and have a really big frame. My shoulders are really huge and even more noticeable now that I've lost weight. I have no waist at all, BUT, I have GREAT legs! Short skirts here I come! Great idea for a post, really interesting responses! Mary Ellen

you're definitely more athletic-framed than i! i think this was a good post, it made me realize all the factors that go into how clothing fits different people, and how 2 people of the same height and weight can have an entirely different body makeup. thanks!
