Help me get to Onederland!! Please...
Hi,
I am 7 months out and down 112 since I started this journey, putting me at 223 today. I will be 38 on December 21 and I really wanted to be under 200 by then. My weight loss has slowed ALOT in the past 4-5 weeks and I don't see me hitting that GOAL. I will admit that I do not exercise as much as I should and that is because I am busy enjoying life like never before and we are running the roads all the time (and I have 2 kids and work full time outside the home as well) I take my vitamins and calcium and get my B-12 shot every day. I try to get plenty of protein, but I find myself drawn to veggies and salads and fruit. I eat some pasta and bread but it is very limited and I eat wheat pasta and whole grain bread when I do (except for that white bread bananna sandwich last week). I have a little over 5 weeks to do this. Can anybody give me some guideance on how to do this??
Thanks
Hi Terri,
I am struggling with slow weight loss now too. I have found that on the days that I don't take in very many carbs I do better. I love crackers and nuts but do better without them. I hope you do reach onederland by your birthday but even if you don't you are so much closer to it than you were 7 months ago! Congrats on the great loss you have had so far. It is awesome. Just hang in there....we have to drop again sooner or later! Don't be too hard on yourself.
Take care,
Roxi
Hi Girls.. I am also struggling this weight loss being sooooooo slow for me. I guess I thought that since I only weighed in at 231 that I would be down 100 pds in 6 months like others.....BUT guess what we need to be patient Everyone says it will come off soon. I am also eating alittle more carbs and I need to get off the breads as my dr. said that you stay off all carbs intill your down to your desired weight.
Best of luck to all of us.
Janice
231/151/130ish one day soon.
Hi Janice,
Wow I want to thank you for the confirmation on the carbs. My doc never said too much about them except to keep them limited. I think you are soooo right tho and I am going to make a consious effort to stay off them too. I can't do bread, rice or pasta very well but I sure like crackers!!!
There is an article that I read which was posted by Corgi mom about life after weight loss surgery and it is fantastic. It talks about the window of opportunity and the bottom line is that it is up to us...if we do it right then the weight will keep coming off and it will stay off a lifetime. Please read it if you get the chance. I was so impressed that I even signed up for the free monthly newsletter.
I think your weight loss is fantastic! Can't wait to be in the 150's! My daughter had WLS in May and she is down about 62 lbs now. She also needed to lose 100 lbs. By the time I am done I want to have lost 155 from the date of surgery.
Keep up the great work and we will all keep encouraging each other!
Terry,
For me exercise is the key. When I do it(not often enough) I lose weight. I tend to do a lot of walking on the weekends but not during the week.
I've thought about some of us Marchers having an exercise challenge. Something to keep us motivated.
Just keep on plugging. You will get there. Just think of how far you've come.

You know....That is not a bad idea.
I find that my weight loss has been so slow too...I have been up and down the same pounds for almost 2 months now. My arms are jsut up in the air on what to do but yet all I hear is that the pounds will eventually come off.
I believe it will. WLS has been a god send and if I dont lose any more the nso be it--that is what GOd meant for me. But I really want more. I too like Terri have a hard time with the exercise--I am gone from dusk till dawn--and when you are byyourself as far as exercise doing--it is hard to really get motivated.
Maybe this is something that can get us back off on the feet we need to be. If there is a challenege started please let me know cause I would love to be with it.
Much love to all,
Becky
