Well, I have finally found a yummy way to drink my protein...I have gotten the Body Fortress Whey Protein Powder at Walmart (chocolate) and it has 110 cals. It taste great, but since it has so many cals I didn't drink it often because I liked it with skim milk, no****er. The other day I got an idea and its delicious and doesn't add many, if any cals to what the protein already has. I am not a huge coffee drinker but every now and then I enjoy a good cup with some splenda. I heated up 8 oz's of water, added 1 teaspoon of decaf coffee, 2-3 teaspoons of splenda, mix it up, then add my scoop of protein. It might sound a little gross but it is really good and I am just glad to be getting in my 2 protein drinks a day now. My nutritionist said it doesn't hurt to put the protein in ho****er as long as its not boiling...Just thought I would share my find! Hugs Angela 313/201/150? -112

Hello Angela MMMMMMM yummy is right!!1 I have used that same protein from wall mart from day one! If I were you I would look into drinking it hot. Sometimes you loose protein strength when you heat it. I just add a tsp of instant coffer to mine or this coffee drink i also purchase at walmart that is call COFFEE WITH MILK its in a can and it is powderd milk and and instant coffee all in one. It dose add another 50calories or so but I only use ice cold water to begin with. But you are right Protein and Coffee go great together. You take care and i wish you all the best. CHER 248/163/144

Hi Cher, I don't heat the protein itself. I tried that and it smelled nasty so I just heat my 8oz of water, then I add coffee and splenda, then my protein. I had asked my nutritionist if this was ok, to add it to a cup of coffee and she said it wouldn't hurt the protein at all unless u add it to boiling water...I might also try that coffee with milk, sounds good! Angel, I get my protein whey powder at Costco. I buy the vanilla and I have drank it with my coffee since day 1. I love it this way and can also add the sugar free flavored mixes with it. I think they're called the Torlei syrups??? Anyways great idea and I hope this catches on with other folks as well. I still find it very difficult to eat any meats... Deborah W. 298/193/170

Hi Deborah, wow, u can't eat meats? I don't know what I would do. That is mostly what I do eat. 2oz of something grilled or baked a day. I also eat cheese and peanut butter. I love Carb Options Peanut Butter. Can u eat Veggies yet? My surgeon hasn't ok'ed for me yet, still just meats, meats, meats! I will have to try those sugar free mixes, thanks for the tip! Angela

I tried this but my protien (which is the same kind you get) doesnt seem to mix really well. I seem to have some clumping. Does your protien mix up really well? I use coffee out of a machine at work. Does anyone know if you can mix it with skim milk and heat for like a hot chocolate?

I use a wire whisk to beat mine, it doesn't clump at all. I heat my water in a 8 oz glass for 2 mins, then I pour that in a bowl to mix, I add 1 teaspoon of coffee, 2-3 teaspoons of splenda, mix it. Then I add 1 scoop of protien. I mix with a wire wisk and have no problems at all. Now, the other day I was gone all day out traveling and I took my coffee, splenda, protein with me. I got some ho****er out of a coffee machine at a gas station, and it didn't mix well at all. I had to stir it every time I wanted a drink because of the clumps. I was mixing it all together in a styrofoam cup instead of a bowl and without my wisk. I would say u could heat the skim milk, then add the protein. That sounds pretty yummy too. I do know its nasty if u heat the protein in it. It smells awful and taste awful. Heat what u want it in first then add the protein. Good luck! Angela
