6 MONTH WEIGH IN!! I'VE BEEN A BAD GIRL!!
Okay, so you can pretty much eat what you want and still loose weight right? WRONG!! I was such a bad girl these past 2 months that I cut my weight loss in half. I know that it will slow down but I went from 20 lbs in 5 weeks last time to 23 lbs in 10 weeks this time. I didn't over eat but I certainly chose the wrong things. Getting a job hasn't helped. No microwave. I have to eat out most of the time. There aren't hardly any good restraunts around here. I called Bob Evans, (chain of family resteraunts) and they sd they would charge me extra to order a kids meal since I'm not a kid, even the little resteraunt card Doc Rod gave me didn't help! I was so mad! I cant even eat a whole kids meal! But anyway! I've lost 103 lbs!
Hi Autumn,
Congrats on your weight loss! That is fantastic! You should be thrilled. I know that we have to be careful with what we eat but I have had a 5 week plateau when I hit the 4 month mark. I am pretty consistant with what I eat all the time and I was ready to scream. When you have to eat out alot all you can do is make the best choice possible which I am sure you do. I am not very impressed with Bob Evans that he won't honor your card....sure won't be stopping at any of his places!
You are doing great!

I am on the same path as you. I am NOT making good food choices right now and my weight loss has slowed down tremendously. I've lost over 100 pounds in 6 months, and for some reason now that I'm under 300 lbs (I'm 270 now) I no longer am in a RUSH to lose weight like I was at 376 pre-op. I need to get my act together. I am still eating small, but am eating WAYYYYYYY too many sugar, carbs and fried foods.
Congrats on 103 lbs!! Plan cold lunches for work so you don't need to go out. Deli meat with cheese, a salad, fruit, nuts, yogurt, pudding (sylvester stalones 'instone' puddings are good and 20g of protein per serving - make sure you eat it COLD though - they aren't good room temp). Hang in there!! You are NOT alone!!! We'll get past this!!

I think it's natural for our bodies to slow down losing weight as we get further away from the surgery.
I've lost -110 lbs and I couldn't be happier.
However, my weight loss has slowed dramatically. Here's how much I've lost each month:
1st month: -30 lbs. -30 total
2nd month: -23 lbs -53 total
3rd month: -17 lbs. -70 total
4th month: -15 lbs. -85 total
5th month: -13 lbs -98 total
6th month: -12 lbs. -110 total
But I've learned with this little chart that if I lose 10 lbs a month I'll reach my doctors goal in January. I've lost 73% of my excess weight so most people would consider my surgery a success. Given that I still need to lose 40 to 70 more lbs, I would consider it a success already, but am so looking forward to reaching my goal.
Hang in there and think of it all as a learning process. It's not easy and we're not going to be perfect. Oh well. Jump back on that horse and stay with it!
Hugggs and blessings,
Heidi
