Official 6-month checkup
Won't be 6-months out til the 30th, but went yesterday for my official 6-month visit. Have lost 115 lbs on the doctor's scales **** lbs on my scales) from my highest weight, 103 lbs from my surgery weight. My BS was pleased. I got good advice from my nutritionist re my recent plateau (mostly what I read here: more water, more movement, smaller meals/more times per day). Also got a goal weight officially set for me ... my BS hadn't even talked about that before, although I had my own goal weight in mind all along. His was only 5 lbs more than mine, so I'll take it! LOL Also had my mind put to ease about whether I'd be able to make it to goal before my "surgical opportunity" expires since I still have so much to lose ... BS did some calculations, and basing it on what I've been able to do so far, feels I'll get pretty close by my 1 year anniversary and will probably still lose the remainder slowly after that down to my goal. It was such a relief to hear that!
So, all in all it was a good visit, got a from my BS and nutritionist and I'm happy.

Heidi,
Seems like lately all I do is MOVE!!!
I do water aerobics 3 times a week, joined a PACE ("do it at your own PACE") exercise class at my local hospital 2 times a week, restarted my physical therapy last week and will go 2 times a week on that! And then I try to walk at least three times a week (don't always get that in right now while it's so hot, but I try).
I've gone from being almost house-bound and not being able to walk to the end of my own sidewalk using a cane to where I am today ... no cane and all this activity. Sometimes it's down-right-hard to believe! When we all say here that this surgery is a miracle, it's the truth!!!
I think about you alot, Heidi, and went to your profile the other day ... you are just not recognizable as the same person!! You've done wonderfully!!! WOW!!
thanks for the support,
Myra
Dear Myra,
What a sweet thing to say.
You've been an inspiration to me. Would you encourage me to "get moving." I'm so inspired by yours activity that I went out and walked with me dog after I read your post. I need to do more and would love to spend the $45.00 it takes to join a gym for the month, but I have some unpaid CC bills that they call me about every day!
I've been such a procrastinator and am so far behind with everything. I have piles of paperwork all over my desk and table that I can't get to either one of them!
I'm finally to the point where I have the energy to get some things done, but am discouraged I can't get it all day TODAY! Patience is my greatest virtue with other people, but last for myself.
Take care and keep up the good work,
Huggggs and blessings,
Heidi
