My First Dump!
I experianced "dumping" for the first time this morning. Can you bleieve it has been almost six months without a dumping episode? It was on bacon! I had 2 strips. It must have been all the fat on it. I started feeling nausous and very weak. We were in a Gander Mountain store. My husband had to practically carry me out. OI was sick all the way home! I went staight to bed and slept it off! Oh God I hope I never go through that again! Anyone else get sick from bacon?

OH YES...bacon will kill you. Little tip, try Turkey bacon. Now being a southern boy, I was VERY doubtful of it when I first tried it, but I like it better now. Very little fat or calories and it actually tastes good...you can eat a whole piece and not have a near death experience from it as you indicated above. Give it a try...good protein too.
Ugh! My first dump was also on bacon - July 1st. Isn't that awful? I remember the date. It's an experience I don't ever care to repeat! And like Heidi, I ALSO dump from cereal and milk (one of my former favorite snacks) It's because of that I discovered I am now pretty much lactose intolerant. Sorry about your misery.

Oh my, I haven't tried bacon and probably won't now. My 1st dump was on my dairy creamer 3wks out. It was an awful experience, I switched to Silk Soy Creamer and milk for my cereal. The worst dumping however was on ice cream. I was never so sick in my life. It lasted hours, severe stomach cramping and the runs, many trips to the bathroom. I will never try that again.

I used to love my milk shakes, too! Thought this would be a great way to get in that dreaded protein. WRONG! I stopped in town to get a SMALL shake and drank about half of it and the horrible cramping, waves of dizziness and weak in the leg**** me. Almost didn't make it the 13 miles back to the house and in the BR before the explosion hit me. Cured me quick of a shake even the small ones! I can, however, eat about one scoop of "regular" ice cream. I get the low fat, "sugar free" vanilla and top it with lite diced Delmonte snack size canned peaches. That's my treat!

Hi Melanie!
You and Heidi and I are surgery triplets!
I had my first dump about 3 weeks out on eggs, which I still cannot eat. Milk and milk products give me grief, but not every time. Sometimes, the soy meat substitutes also give me trouble. The thing I hate is, one time, I'll have no problems, and the next time, yikes!!
Still, I wouldn't trade the surgery in for anything. I can live my life now without being afraid.
