I used to be so hot natured. I would freeze my hubby out of the house because I would be burning up. For the past month or so I have been just freezing when he is hot. He works nights and sleeps durning the day and he likes it cool in the bedroom while he sleeps. I try to leave the air conditioner on where he puts it, 75. I try, most of the time I put it on 78-80 and I am still freezing. Is this because of losing 87 pounds? I would say it is. I would give anything for a sweat shirt and some jogging pants right now, lol. Brrrr, I am so cold!!!! Anyone else do this? Hugs and God Bless Angela Open RNY 3/24/05 313/227/140???

Me, too. I had to put a second comforter on my bed last night. Just couldn't get warm. My body temp changed since the day of surgery. I was always hot! Hardly ever needed a jacket in the winter! I'm sure all that fat kept me insulated! Hugggs, Heidi Lap RNY 3/28/05 353/247/170

it's weird, i was also hot natured, but i've been cold since the day i had my surgery! that was before all this weight came off, it must have something to do with the actual process of losing weight rather than just the lack of insulation. it's been in the 90's outside, and the thermostat in the office is usually around 72, but i wear a jacket in the mornings and frequently turn on a little heater fan under my desk. at home i keep the thermostat around 76, but even then i still get cold sometimes. at least my husband won't complain too much, he's coming home from the desert in a few months and it's going to feel cold here to him, so we can be cold together--at least until he readjusts, hehe.

Losing the weight is part of it. But you may also have an iron deficiency. Have your doc check your iron level next time you go in. Toni Lap RNY 3/21/05 267/176/130

I've been freezing for a few months now. My doctor told me it takes the body awhile to adapt to the weight loss and throws your bodies temperture control off. People look at me weird because I wear long sleeves or a sweater sometimes, but I'm cold! Scarlette

Hello Angela; I know what you mean about freezing!! My husband sweats alot but I freeze. I asked my doctor about it and he says it is because I have lost my insulation. We just have to wear extra clothes until our bodies adjust to the extreme changes we are going through. Good luck. Melinda Rexroad
