Been away for awhile but I am back
I haven't been around much, been spending some beautiful days at the Jersey shore. I just wanted to write a short note to say hi to all of my fellow Marchers and congratulate everyone on their continued success. I don't have much to report since I don't weigh myself at home and won't get weighed until I see my surgeon in November. I can say that my clothes are all huge on me, but I refuse to buy much since the warm weather season is coming to an end. I use my sewing machine whenever possible to hold me over.
I do have 2 questions, one for everyone, Does anyone else ever find themselves saying "I need to put something in" instead of " I am hungry or "I am starving"? Food and me aren't the best of friends, it is very rare that I even enjoy it but I eat because I have too. I no longer throw up because I now know what and how to eat but most days food makes my stomach feel weird. It's a real turn off. Except of course, right before that time of the month. Which leads me to my other question for the ladies, has anyone else noticed that your emotions are extremely out of control, for like a week before your period is due. Now, I am not talking normal PMS, but you know, like are you a freaking nutcase? I noticed it 2 months ago and this month was really bad. I just hope there isn't a pattern here because my family will leave me....lol.
Hope you all had a fabulous summer! Thanks and I'll see you on the boards!
Hi, Jean, I could never stand to wait until November to see how much I weighed. You have amazing will power! About your questions: I do get hungry and I still enjoy eating. However, like you, I know now what will make me feel bad and I avoid it. And your question about PMS, I have had the worst PMS of my life the last two months. I gain and lose up to 10 pounds of water in a week, my breasts are VERY sore (that never used to happen), my periods last 7 days (used to last 4), and I am in some kind of mood swing mania! It is terrible and I hope by next month, things will go back to normal. I can't take many more PMS days like this. And I doubt my DH can, either! Other than that (LOL), things are going so good. I am feeling great and eating good and starting to feel normal-sized. It is great!

Becky,
Thanks for the reply! I am glad to hear that it is not just me. I just hope for us that after the major weightloss that things begin to subside. My family is having a hard time dealing with it and I just hate myself. As much as I try to keep my mood up, something always sets me off. I am trying not to stress over it right now, maybe next month will be better! Take care and good luck!

Cher,
Well thank god my periods DO NOT last ten days but my PMS does, you must spend a fortune on tampons....lol. I also don't touch carbs, fats or sugars of any kind besides maybe a pretzel here and there. I don't ever crave anything. I just have an appetite pre- period which I don't have much of during the month. Overeating has not been an issue for me and hope it never is again. Just the mood swings kill me or maybe I should say my husband will kill me if they don't stop! Take care and thanks!

I have been told by people in my support group plus by my doctor that losing weight gets our estrogen out of balance and out of whack and it's normal to be an emotional roller coaster. I noticed it on month 4 as well. I'm on Zoloft now and that helps a bit. Ask your doctor for something because it's normal and there's medication out there to help balance our levels out without us zoning out or anything.
Thanks for posting! Glad to see you here.

I heard about the whole hormonal thing but hoped it wasn't only happening to me. I experienced it once before with a dramatic weightloss but wanted to hear if everyone started at the same time as me and how bad it has been for them. I was on zoloft for years went off it after surgery and am trying to stay off of it along with all my other meds which I no longer need. Thanks for the advice and it's good to see you on the boards again. Take care!
