This is getting old!!!
OK.. I am nearing my 6 month post op date..and once again I have hit another plateau!!! Is this what I get to struggle with now? I lost those 2 lbs to put me under 200 and I havent moved!! It has been since July 22 and then it was like 2 to 3 weeks or more before that!!! I have upped my protein and water!! This gets depressing!! I know I am alot farther than I was 6 months ago and I should be happy where I am now but I guess when you get this far... ya just want more!!! grrr...its frustrating!!!!!
Thanks for letting me vent...again!!!!

Patti...
I feel your pain. My weight loss has slowed way down in the last month and I am getting really frustrated. I drink tons of water, get my protein in and joined the gym, but the scales are crawling. Hopefully this will just be a small bump in the road for us. I'm trying hard not to get too depressed over it myself. Keep your chin up your not alone. Scarlette
Scarlette,
At least you are exercising!! Im sure that will help you out!! I guess I shouldnt complain too much!! I dont get my lazy butt out and exercize!! I did start walking again tho!! I just dont feel like I have time to exercise because I have 3 boys that are in everything imaginable!! I am constantly running!! and not the exercize running either!!
Thanks for the encouragement!!

Your surgery was the day after mine. I have been following your posts and havent seen anything from you lately. I had been wondering if you broke your plateau. Evidentally not. Wow..since May. That would really bum me out too! I guess I need to look at it like I couldnt have lost these 72 lbs without the surgery and hopefully at least keep them off!!
Good luck to you! I hope things get better! Keep your chin up! With all the exercise that you do Im sure that you are in alot better health than you were 6 months ago!!
Keep us updated!!

I've carried on regular email correspondence with my nutritionist and my surgeon's nurse practitioner, two truly wonderful people. I have tried to follow all of their suggestions, but the plateau remains. I have my 6 month follow up on the 22nd so I hope to see my surgeon then. In the meantime, I have an appt on Friday with my program's bariatrician. He doesn't know it yet, but I'm bringing him all my food and gym records for the past 4 months so he can help me figure out what's going on. I've also talked several times to the exercise physiologist in my program, because I have noticed a weird trend in that whenever I have to miss the gym for a few days straight I lose like 5lbs or more, and as soon as I go back to the gym the weight comes back. She has no explanation either, except that I'm maybe hoarding calories. I'm definitely smaller and have always been pretty muscular, something that is decidedly pronounced these days. But I had the surgery to lose weight, not get smaller.
I'll post and let folks know what I find out, in case they ever hear of anyone else with this kind of plateau.

Hi Patti
I feel your pain also....6 months, 105 pounds..doc said that this was normal. At this time weight loss is gonna be slower. One thing that I have seen though through all these plateau's the weight might be slow to none but the inches are still creeping off. Don't give up it is happening slowly but surely. We have to be strong....vent if you have to we are all here for ya!
