PMS questions Ok my period has been regular since my surgery March 24,05. It shows up the same time each month and last the same amount of days. It has been heavier since surgery but normal. Ok, my period was supposed to have started a couple of days ago. By this time last month I was already bleeding pretty heavy. I know I have been expecting my period for week now because my breast have gotten tender and there have been a few times I have felt slightly nauseous. Also, the mood swings lol! Since it is impossible for me to be pregnant, I am thinking that since I lost 12 pounds in the last 8 days that might have some thing to do with my period being late. I spotted a little when I wipe but then nothing is showing up on my pad. Could losing 12 pounds in 8 days make my period late? I know I am not pregnant, hubby had a vasectomy 4 years ago this December and if I am pregnant he and I are going to have a small chat with his Dr, lol. I think its losing 12 pounds, my weight loss was going pretty slow then I started doing exactly what my surgeon told me and boom 12 pounds fell off since last Thursday. Thanks for any imput on this! Hi Angela' Sure it can happen this way with quick weight loss. Your hormones get effected and your weight loss also affects the iron in your body even with the supplements and therefore the bleeding may be affected either heavy or light. I was always regular and now and finding that things are getting a little off. I a week ahead of your surgery date and what you are describing is a lot like what I am dealing with. As far as the mood swings I find that adding some St. John's wort...an herbal supplement that promotes well being helps me...it was okay'd by my nutritionist and nurse practitioner. Congratulations on the weight loss...keep up the good work. Kirsten Lap RNY 3/16/05 300/185/135

Hey Angela: I think it's the weight loss, too. By the way, exactly what DID your surgeon tell you to do? I have been stalled for 2 weeks now and it's making me NUTS. I had surgery 4 days after you did... Carole T

Lol, well he told me to eat 3 meals a day consisting of 2oz. So I got me some 2oz cups from Sams Club. He said only eat meats, cheese, eggs, peanut butter. Meats baked or grilled. He said to drink 64oz or more of some sort of sugar free liquid. I get in more than 100oz now. NO snacking. This was the biggie that hurt me. I love popcorn and used to eat the butter light or I would grab a chip or a cracker every now and then and it hurt me. I slowed down to losing only 10lbs a month. I started doing what he told me to do on August 25, exactly what he told me to do and lost 10 pounds in 5 days, then my blasted period started and I haven't lost in 2 days now, but I will soon as its over. I do walk some but not much. Hope this helps. I am down 83 pounds and it was down 70 on August 25 when I started doing what I was supposed to. I also keep a journal of what I eat and I journal for when I weigh in to see what my weight loss is for a week or a month or whatever. Hugs Angela
