Hello fello Marchsters..new to this board
Hello!
My name is Dawn. I just discovered this message board..have been posting on the Tennessee boards.
I am down 101 lbs since my surgery March 8th,2005. I have been on a plateau for a while now but I know it will start back up again.
I had to have emergency gallbladder surgery this past Monday. That was scary and more pain than I ever want to feel again but doing much better now thank Goodness!!
I was wondering tho if anyone else here had to have thier GB removed post-op? And did you notice any significant appetite changes afterwards? It seems the past couple days mine is back with a vengeance and it scares me a bit. I want to reach my goal and it worries me that if my appetite stays the way it has been the past couple days, that might be a problem. So thought I would ask.
Anyways.. hope you all are well.
God Bless!!

Hi Dawn,
We are always glad to have more "Marchers" join the boards!!
I know there have been a few that have had GB removed after WLS...maybe they will chime in and give you there recolection of there appitite after the removal. I cant help there, I still have mine...but sometimes my appitite is so big it scares me too. I have alot of head hunger too though. Your weight loss is awesome!! 101 lbs in 6 months...You Go Girl!!

Hello Nancy..
Thank you for responding to my post. I read your profile and you have done sooo good.. Isn't this surgery just awesome!
To think back to just 6 mths ago and feeling like there was no hope and that I was bound to this FAT body for the rest of my life, that insurance was never going to approve me..and then they surprised me and approved in 3 days..and now 6 mths later I feel like a new person with a whole new lease on life.. isn't it just amazing!?! God is sooo good to us!
I wake up feeling like life is worth living for the first time in soooo long! I love this. I love reading other success stories too as it is so encouraging!
You look WONDERFUL in your profile pics..you have done great..keep up the great work!

Welcome to March Madness, Dawn. All 3/05's are welcome!
My wife had GB removed during her WLS at the end of March. Of course, there are other considerations, but she is less tolerant of some foods than I am. Wonder if one has anything to do with the other.
Feel better soon and keep up the good battle!

i had my GB taken out at the end of june, i had no appetite for a while, but then it came back and i was a little hungrier than usual, probably b/c i didn't eat for almost 2 days. (day of surgery and then the day after i barely felt like eating)
i don't know if this might be a potential culprit for you, but i noticed that my appetite increased around that time of the month, usually a day or two before i started and then my appetite would taper off towards the end of my cycle. don't have that now though, i went back on depo shots and have stopped having my period altogether.
Welcome to this board!! I discovered this board when I updated my surgery date in my profile in February. It's nice having others that had surgery around same time so we can share what we are going through. Congrats on being part of the century club!! I'm 5 lbs away from that myself. I had a bit of a stall too this past month but am finally losing again and anxious to get to the 100 pound lost mark!!
My appetite varies from day to day. On some days I am ALWAYS hungry and other days I barely eat and have to remind myself to get protein in. It's normal. Just don't eat every hour - space it out - and make healthy food choices and you'll be fine!!
