AFRAID I'LL STOP LOSING
OH MY GO****S SLOWING DOWN ALREADY! AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? MY AUNT HAD A FAILED WLS, WILL THIS HAPPEN TO ME? DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW HARD OR EASY IT WOULD BE TO MESS THIS UP? I'VE LOST 85 LBS SINCE MARCH 24 2005. HOW DO I KNOW IF I'VE DONE SOMETHING WRONG? HOW MUCH WRONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE A FAILED WLS?
Hi Autumn,
I really don't have the answers to your questions. I do know that the loss will slow down after a certain amount of time and I am sure it varies from person to person. Personally I don't weigh myself ever at home only at the surgeons office every 3 months. I know that I am doing the right thing and the amount of weight I lose doesn't matter to me as much as the fact that I am losing. I think 85 lbs since March 24th is phenomenal. Seems to me you are doing wonderfully! I wonder though why you feel that way, have your eating habits changed? Do you feel as though you are doing something wrong? If not, I would relax and enjoy, the weight will come off!
Congrats!
Jean
85 lbs lost since 3/24 is certainly an acceptable range. Some do more (as I have) and some less. My wife had her surgery as few days after your and has lost 85 lbs.
Doesn't sound like you've messed anything up. Usually, things slow down a bit after 5-6 months. If you have a genuine concern, contact your nutritionist or surgeon, but it seems to me like you're right on track.
Meantime, track your calories, make sure you're getting in enough protein, drink your water and exercise. It'll all work out.

Hi Autumn
I had surgery a couples of days after you, and I have lost 85 pounds also. That's a really terrific accomplishment. It averages out to about 3 or 4 pounds a week, and there isn't any diet that can give you that without starving yourself.
Don't compare yourself to your aunt. You aren't her, and if you follow what your nutritionist tells you, you will be successful.
Relax and enjoy your new life. Think of all the success you have had so far, and don't focus on failing. It's not an option. Above all, DON'T PANIC!
Autumn;
Don't worry everyone looses at different speeds. I have been out 5 months as of the 30th of this month. I have lost 72 lbs and 55 3/4 inches. As long as your doc is happy with your progress you should be too. They also suggested watching your inches more than your weight. Keep your chin up and just keep going and tell yourself you are loosing at YOUR speed. Good luck.
