I will add on to what Greg said. Our nutritionist suggested we used Head and Shoulders shampoo, since it contains zinc, which can slow down hair loss. I have been using it for several months, and haven't noticed any increase in what was my normal daily hair loss before surgery.
I did notice, however, my nails are growing like crazy and they seem to be stronger than before! I don't know whether that's because of the protein of the vitamins or both, but I am glad.

I am glad you are not yet experiencing any hair loss but I can tell you that I had surgery 25 days before you and my hair just started to fall out about 2 weeks ago. I am not losing clumps or anything just much more then usual. I hope the head and shoulders works for you. I don't like to use it, it's a bit rough on my perm and color but maybe I'll dip into hubbies bottle every other day just in case it really does help. Take care!
I think it varies for everyone, I have read many different stories about hairloss. I don't think protein has that much to do with it. I think it has to do with the stress our bodies are going through. I have been on many diest and whether I had enough protein or not, if the weight loss was dramatic, I lost hair. The good news, it does come back. Try not too stress over it! It will stop!
Hi Vicki,
Mine also started about 3 months. I am now a little over 5 and its still coming out but it has slowed alot. I have upped my protein alot. I hear that helps and someone elso on here said they use Pantene and it seemed to help them so I thought it was worth a shot and bought some!! LOL! But I think the best advise is probably the protein!!
Keep up the good work!
