Hi: I had my surgery with Dr. Christopher Hart here in Atlanta 3/28. I have lost 80 lbs (and I'm thrilled, don't get me wrong!), but for the past 2 weeks I bounce up and down the same 2 lbs. I work out at least 5 days/week - weights and cardio, drink a min. of 64 oz water each day and get in between 80-100 gms protein per day. I take it easy on carbs and only eat complex. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????? I am at 184 now and really want to get to 140. I'll be a great grandmother by then at this rate! Carole T.

Carole we share the same anniversary! Yes, I had been in a stall for 3 weeks. It was most frustrating! But what I did was to be very patient. Are bodies are adjusting to all the weight we have lost. It is very normal. I am not a doctor but I believe we would be abnormal if we didn't have stalls now and then. Everyone that I know has had stalls. Just keep eating and drinking and your body will eventually shed its weight. We are slowing down a little but when we loose we loose a lot compared to someone without this surgery. Having patience is alot easier said then done but what other choice do we have? Melanie 232/163/130ish

Carole, I was in a stall for over a month...finally the last week i dropped a couple of lbs. Like you I exercise a ton and think I am doing everything else right. I agree that it just happens and as long as I keep up what Im doing it will eventually melt away!!! It is frustrating though!!! You are doing great!!!! I've been plateau'd now for three full months. I wouldn't worry about just a couple weeks. I think that's completely normal. I lost 56lbs my first 2 months out,a nd not another pound since them. HOpe yours starts up again soon. Mary Ellen

OMG... I have been so depressed about how much my weight loss has slowed down. I was losing an average of 4 lbs a wee****il July.... then it was 3 lbs a week and now in August its been 1 lb a week. I can't figure it out and its so depressing. How many calories do you all eat a day? Someone told me I wasn't eating enough and thats why I've stalled. I'm down 77 lbs and worry I'm losing too slow. I was hoping to lose 100 lbs by my 6 month mark, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I'm going crazy with worry. Any ideas? Hopefully we will all start losing again real soon. Scarlette

Hey Shagadelic: I'm eating as few as 850 cals to as many as 1100 per day. My nutritionist told me to keep it at 1200 a day, but I think I have that die-hard eating mentality of "eat less, lose more." Guess I better get over that. How many do you eat?

Hi Carole.... I've only been eating 600-800 calories per day. Usually closer to 600. My PCP told me yesterday I need to eat more , but I also have the old diet mentality that eating less equals more weight lost. I am going to try to eat more and see what happens. Thanks for the input, My nutritionist refused to give me a calorie goal because she didn't want me obsessing about it. Thanks! Scarlette

Carol, I am stalled right now too. I will lose a pound or two then gain a few then lose again- I am having major hormonal female problems and I am not exercising much since I am feeling crappy with that - I have a hysterectomy next Friday and hope everything starts getting better then. Good luck! Terri
