Hi Patti, Congrats! Yesterday was my 5 months and I am down 60lbs. I have heard the first 6 months is when the weight is the easiest to loose...but I really think it all depends. Have a wonderful anniversary day!!! Michelle www.active.com/donate/tntwpawv/michelleuschock

Patti, Happy Anniversary and congratulations! My 5 month's not til the 30th. So here's what I was told by my bariatric physician ... the "honeymoon period" is the first two 3-month periods ... the first three months are good, the second three months are the prime and GREAT period of weight loss, the third drops back to good and the fourth goes to "ok but slow". He showed me a bar graph, you know ... first bar (meaning first three months) a little over 3/4 way up, 2nd three month bar almost to the top, 3rd three month bar back down to about 1/2, 4th three month bar down further to about 1/4. That make sense? Since I came to him from another program he was explaining this because he thought I was behind "schedule" ... 62 lbs at 3 months (at my original body volume he wanted me to have lost about 80 lbs.) ... and told me to work extra hard to catch up my weightloss during the second three months. It all sort of depressed me and made me worry, but he wasn't being negative with me, so much as helping me to understand how the process works and how to work it to my best advantage in this best window of opportunity. My dietician agreed it did "sort of" work that way (don't know why she hedged her words) but told me not to worry about my "schedule" so much as just work my program as best I could. I hope I've "caught up" to his idea of a schedule by now, I'm down 98 lbs. today. I'll find out on Sept. 19 when I go back to see him for my second 3 month checkup. I'd be interested in hearing what others have been told. Blessings and best wishes, Myra

Now I'm ultra bummed out. I lost 56lbs my first 2 months after surgery,a nd haven't lost a damned thing since. I knew I was wasting all this great time and now it's gone. Sigh. Mary Ellen

I also heard 6 months or so. Since I am now getting so close to my original goal (40 lbs to go), I'm not too concerned about slowing down, so long as I can still get it off. I've done so well, I'm considering sliding my goal weight down to about 170-175, but I want to wait until I do slow down to see if it is possible (don't want to do that and set myself up for disappointment). Greg, Sounds like you have done and exceptionally wonderful job on your weight loss! You and your wife too!! I too am only about 31 lbs from my personal goal which is 170 but the dr says it should be more like 155 to 160. That still doesnt seem that far away!! Cant wait to get there!! Best of luck to you!!
