5 month mark

Today is my 5 month mark and I am feeling great! I am down about 80# and have so much energy. Its still hard to believe that I am getting as small as people say I am. I am in a size 16 (my friend and hubby say are big on me) and have 3 pair of size 14 pants that are a little tight, but I dont need to jump, squeeze or tuck myself into them. WOW...who'd a thought it... On 8-8-05 I hit a first time ever moment!! I allowed Joe (my hubby) to carry me...yikes... lol. He carried me like a groom would carry his bride, then after that he gave me a piggyback ride though the house. I kept asking him if I was breaking his back...he laughed and said that he could of done it before I lost any weight. There was no way I would of let him even try. Another Wow moment was when I was playing bingo with my mom and there was a lady that squeezed behind my chair and I said sorry and pulled my chair in...and she said "its not your fault, I am the fat one" I sat there is shock...cause I was always the fat one, so I told her about my losing the weight and how hearing her say that was like telling me that I am not fat. I still see myself as fat and its still hard to hear the comments on how good I am looking. I hope one day that I will believe the words that I hear. Thats it for now...until next time... Tara, you're doing a great job. I know what you mean about still seeing ourselves as fat, I guess it takes the brain a while to learn to see what's in the mirror. Keep up the good work. Toni

Those are GREAT wow moments!! You are doing great! I know our self-image takes a while to adjust. I'm still adjusting myself. I still fear restaurant booths thinking I won't fit, but I do now. Things like that. But you are doing great and you are no longer the "biggest one in the room" like we used to be. You have to retrain your mind now. You got your stomach trained and body trained to lose weight, but now need to work on your mind. I'm trying to do the same thing. Even thinking of going to a psychologist about it to help me because I don't know how to do it. (retraining my mind) Keep us posted on your progress!! Congrats on your WOW moments!! Thanks Trisha! As for the bingo thing goes...I took my mom for her birthday to a super bingo game. I paid her way in for all the games...we didnt hit on the games, BUT we did hit on these pull tickets they had. We hit $300 and pretty excited, because we split when ever we go.
