The last couple days I have gotten dizzy several time. I have stepped up my water intake and hope that helps. Anyone else having this problem? Donna

Donna! How weird! I was just coming here to post the exact same thing and I see our surgery dates were the same time...lol. I too have been dizzy the last couple of days. Im thinking it is the heat and perhaps not getting enough water. I just drank gatorade mixed 1/2 with water hoping that would help a bit. If not I will be calling the doc to go in and see. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing!! Michelle

Donna you may want to think about checking your blood sugar. If you were diabetic you could be bottoming out...but if not, you could still be having some episodes of hypoglycemia. Increasing your water intake is a great idea as well as dehydration may be the culprit. D'Lynn 232/176/130

Hi Donna, I hope you are doing better. I just came through 5 weeks of being in and out of the hospital due to dyhydration and simply dropping weight too fast. I am on the upper end of ave weight loss that people have lost on this board but for some reason my metobolic system went into shock. I had to work with a nutiritionist and endronologist weekly to realign my systems but now I am doing great. I learned that for my body, a high level of ketosis (probably spelt that wrong) pushed me straight into dehydration no matter how much I drank. Then I became so sick that eating anything was impossible. Please stay in contact with your docs and be aggressive if needed. Now that I know what to do and what my personal warning signs are- I think I can stay out of trouble. Headaches, dizzy spells and feeling sick to my stomach are keys in realizing something is going on.

i agree you should check with your doctor, but jus wanted to let you know i have been a lil light headed in the past couple of days as well, not a whole lot jus sometimes when i stand up or turn around to fast or something. my mom is 5 years post op and she told me to drink more fluids and to add a lil extra salt to like some broth, because that will help you to retain more of the water you are taking in.... that worked well for me durring the first couple months, so i have been trying that again these past couple of day.... hmmm interesting though i wonder if it is something that has to do with our six month mark???

Hi Jeanette, I am not sure of others experiences but I do know that I have to work especially hard to stay hydrated and on top of my metobolic nutritional needs. I also learned that I am not able to metabolize birth control the same and ran into lots of complication surrounding that as well. My docs took me off of it last month to prevent clotting and to help cut down on the dizzy spells. Now I am on a much lower dose patch. I also require a few more carbs than what is traditionally recommended and it has made a tremedous difference in my energy and sanity level. At the same time those carbs are a demon and choosing the right ones is a constant challenge. But by adding some my glucose dosen't hower at 40 anymore but stays now between 75-102. Amazing how much more clearity of thought one has with glucose at the proper levels. Hope you are doing better!!!!!
