Help! Are any women out there having a problem with...
I had a lot of problems prior to surgery, never knew if or when I was going to have a period. I thought it was because of my weight which I'm sure alot of it was. I have only had one since my surgery and with the great loss I have had I think I am in peri menopause just haven't had it diagnosed yet. Quite frankly I am enjoying not having one.
I asked about the patch for b/c and my gyn wont give it to me until I am 150lbs. He said it is the same as the pill as far as absorbency for WLS until you are down around that weight. He actually wont give it to anyone if they weigh more than that. He said the data is 180lbs but he wants to be safe. He did say we might want to use a back up...but...ugh...just cant be bothered I guess...lol.

Pat,
You are not alone. The first month after surgery I had a cycle for 3 weeks, then nothing for 6 weeks then I have become regular since but I have started taking the nuva ring. but the only thing is that before surgery when I was on the ring I would have 1 maybe a 2 day very light cycle, and now I have 9 day periods. I talked to my ob docter about the crazy periods and they said that was perfectly normal losing that much weight and the longer periods are due to extra ovulation.
I hope that this helps and it will pass soon,
Crystal

Just a little info that I learnt at my WLS meeting on Monday...
There was a lady there that had lost over 200lbs in 21 months and she was on BC Pills.
Well...due to the body not absorbing certain things like they usta including meds...she is now 4 months pregnant. I am not sure how that works, but it is something that you ladies might want to look into.
It is not a factor for me (I had a hystorectomy May of last year), but I thought I would pass it on anyway.
