consistancy in their menstral cycle? The first month after surgery was fine but since then I've either skipped a month or had 2 periods in one month!!!!!!!!! This is so annoying. If you've had similar issues please let me know that I'm not alone. Thanks. Pat

Course you are not alone---I used to be real regular--but with weight loss anything can happen---Now---instead of once a month---I am once every six to eight weeks--which has me feeling miserable and bloated ---ARGH! Lifes rough! Lisa

Sorry but I've had just the opposite, prior to surgery there was not telling when I would get my period, since I've been like clockwork. It has something to do with the hormones in our fat, for some it helps regulate and for others it wreaks havock. If it gets worrisome, check with your gyn.

Pat, Mine are the WORST since surgery. I get one and it lasts 10-20 days them I am off for 5-7 days and start all over!!! I have taken a 6 day course of hormones twice and we are talking about a hysterectomy now. I had an ablasion 2 years ago and am not supposed to get any period at all!!!! I am 37 and have had my 2 babies so I am ready to be done with it! Terri

Michelle, I am willing to try anything but they hesitate to put me on BC because of high blood pressure. DH had a vasectomy so protection is not an issue. Heck with the periods I have been having, sex is not an issue. Not fun!! Terri

I am in peri-menopause. I hadn't had a period for 3 months, and 5 days before my surgery, BINGO! I had another in April, but nothing since. I haven't felt bloated or hormonal.

Oh Pat!! I have been having issues ever since surgery!! I have my period almost all the time. Im on the pill and thought the new one I started after surery was causing but then went back on my regular one and still have my period what seems like constantly. I also wonder if my pill is even working...geez, now thats all i would need is to get pg right now!!! I went to the gyno 3 times since surgery and he said it is due to quick weight loss and hormones. I go back the end of this month so I may ask yet again if there is something he can give me. I worry about anemia with already low food to get the iron and then having period almost constantly...it is ridiculous!!!!! What we women go thru huh??!!??!!??! Take care, Michelle

You might want to ask the gyn about one of the bc patches. My surgeon told me that I wouldn't absorb the pill if taken orally so that may have something to do with what you're experiencing. Toni

i almost became anemic b/c of a 2 week long period, thankfully the depo-provera shot stopped it. you might want to consider that, it may be kinda spotty for the first few months, (it was the first time i went on it, but this time it made my period stop the same day, and i haven't had one since!) but a lot of women stop having a period altogether after the 2nd or 3rd shot.
