Thank you, Greg,
You and Linda are looking great!
Sounds like you sure had a fun vacation! You got to Phoenix, which is just 6 or 7 hours from me in Albuquerque. We have the Isotopes here, not major league! When's the last time any of us lost weight on a vacation! Was it hard to resist the concession stands? Congratulations on losing!
Looks like you're only 50 lbs from your goal! All I can say is "WOW"!!!!
Keep it up.
Huggs,
Heidi
Heidi,
It was a terrific (but exhausting) vacation. We didn't so much resist the concession stands as we really had no choice but to eat at them (since the tour considered the ballparks a meal stop). Linda had the harder time since she is a vegetarian (though some ballparks had veggie food--Oakland being the best). We just had to be moderate in our eating and low in our expectations. I mostly ate hot dogs, but with only one bite of the bun. I did have a fish taco in San Diego that was outstanding. The tortilla is steamed, not fried, and all I had on the taco was lots of hot sauce, so it worked. We had to try the garlic fries in San Francisco but, rather than buying some and overeating them together, we waited until somebody in our group bought some and we bummed two each from her. Got the taste and didn't have the temptation.
Part of being successful, I think, was the fact we were captive on the bus for six-eight hours a day between locations, so there weren't many chances to snack (read: "graze") They had a huge cooler with water bottles, so we easily got our fluids in each day (good thing, too: 114 in Vegas, 108 in Phoenix, 95 in Oakland, etc.)
The tougher eating choices were in Vegas since everything is so high priced. I mean, a bowl of cereal was $8 bucks! So, rather than eating something more "legal" we had to balance it with cheaper. Still, we made it through and I'm pretty proud of how we both did.
