I joined Curves pre-op but I am really having trouble getting there before they close and they are only open 2 hours on Saturday. It is TOO hot here to walk- anybody have ideas for indoor exercise I can do at home? I want to pick up the pace because I want to have 100 pounds total off before my next checkup on 090705 (is that possible??? I am down 66 as of this morning) Thanks Terri

Hi Terri, I have a gazelle and rally like i****ch tv and ride it. Although lately dh and I just get up early and walk and I stop at Contour Express...just like Curves after work... Also, have you ever done the Walk away the Pounds tapes...they arent bad either. Good luck finding something...your weight loss is great!! Michelle

Michelle, Thanks for the ideas- my little one is going to start kindegarden in a few weeks and he will have to go to bed earlier and I just don't want to miss that time with him because curves is not open later. I have heard good things about the walk away the pounds tapes so I will look for those. Terri

i just started taking taekwondo with my 6-year-old son, it's great exercise and something we can do together! we have practice twice a week and an optional saturday class. i also use our bowflex 3 days a week, but a lot of the exercises i do i could do with just hand weights. michelle

Yoga... I go to Gold's Gym, but have recently been taking Yoga (called Centergy in the gym). You can get a DVD of beginning poses and I'm telling you it is quite the workout. Not much cardio, but I do get a heck of a workout from it.

Derrick, Can I do yoga at this size? I am still rather large (5'4" and 258). It sounds like something I'd like to try. Terri

Terri, I don't know whether you have joint problems or not, but jumping rope is good indoors (assuming you have a high enough ceiling). Also, this might be the time to invest in a small weight set if you don't have one and begin light weight training. If you start working your muscles now, they will be sleek and smooth when the excess weight is gone. Jeannie

My sister had a Lateral Thigh Trainer that I will be using once I get to below 250 as that is the weight limit on it, but for now I am doing the walking tapes she has and my faorite, Belly Dancing Tapes. These really give you a work out, are non-impact and fun! Alyson

* Get some exercise videos/dvd's * Dance in the dark to your favorite music * Go to a shopping mall and walk around (no shopping!!) just walk * Join another gym that is open longer and more often for you I hope this helps. There's a curves near me too, but they are mainly open during business hours. I want a place that's open until midnight or something. Not that I'll be there that late, but that it's an option if I ever wanted to. Congrats on 66 lbs lost!! That's great! Don't push yourself to get to 100 lbs lost by your next follow up appointment. That adds stress and pressure to you, and you don't need that right now. Just my two cents. Trisha -85 lbs
