Hello everyone, I wanted to take a quick poll on what us Marcher's eat and drink everyday. I have been stalled for the last week or so and wanted to get an idea of the following: how many ounces of water do you drink every day? how many grams of protein do you consume every day? how many times a week do you exercise? I know that I need more water and protein. I can drink water at work but it seems when I get home in the evening, I slack off. thanks for the info corgimom

I average about 40 oz water, I know I need to get more but it really makes me feel bloated, even when I sip. And I average about 45 grams of protein, my goal is 50 so I get close. As far as exercise... that is my real challenge. Most weeks, I get to the gym 3 times and do an hour of cardio each time. I want to get into the pilates class (& try to tone up some of the loose muscle and skin) but it's not offered at a time I can attend. Hope that helps. Toni Lap RNY 3/21/05 267/190

Rule of thumb: 64 floz of water 64 g of protein for women, 72 for men 800-1000 cals per day Exercise a minimum of 1/2 hour, three times a week (nothing wrong with walking a mile or two every day, though) Consider alternatives to water: Iced Tea, Crystal Lite, sugar-free koolaid, will all work. Mix it up so you don't get bored. Try using fitday.com to keep track of what you are doing. It's easy, it's free and both my wife and I got supercharged in weight loss since we started using it. Greg, I have used Fitday prior to WLS but now I have a hard time getting an accurate count on calories and portions. For example, when I eat a prepared meal that is say chicken and pasta. I only eat a few bites of the pasta and most of the chicken. Since the whole meal is included in the serving info, it is hard to break it down. I guess the answer might be to have more freshly prepared meals. thanks corgimom

Don't rely much on what the portions and data say on the site. Make use of every nutritional label on everything you eat, calculate the portion size and work it that way. Since I started using it, I have lost 20 lbs.

Corgi mom, I drink about 68 oz or water a day - or more and get between 40-60 grams of protein (my nut said 45-55 for my height). I exercise about 2-3 times a week but as much more active at home as well (do more than watch tv) Terri

* 60-72 oz. water * 70-80 grams of protein * aerobic exercise 5 times per week for 40 minutes; resistance training with weights twice a week (I'm slowly building frequency, sets, and reps.

I get in about 100 oz of water and about 70-80 oz of protein. I get most of my water in during the day at work, I also slack off at night. And on the weekend, I "treat" myself and pretty much only drink Crystal light, and decaf ice tea. Eileen

I try for 64oz water a day (I at least get 48oz on bad days, but generally make it to 64), but i'm the same as you--I end up forgetting when I get home. I aim for 70+g protein (usually at least 60, but i'm pretty consistently getting in 70 these days) and before my gallbladder surgery, I was doing a Bowflex routine 4 days a week or more. Hi I try to get in 64 ounces of water a day. Getting way over 60 grams of protein thanks to bariatriceating.com and Susan Maria's delicious shakes and protein bars. Exercise? I'm literally walking my butt off. No time to go to a gym I work 6 days a week.. I'm a professional dog groomer so its very physcial. My energy level is through the roof this past month. I'm down 70 lbs.!!! Viv
