Goodbye gallbladder...
I saw the surgeon yesterday, I have to get my gallbladder taken out on Monday. Talk about short notice!!! It was either do it this Monday or wait nearly a month, and he didn't recommend waiting.
I started crying on the elevator on my way out, as I realized that this time my husband won't be there when I wake up. Thankfully some friends have offered to take me to the hospital and pick up my son from daycamp, so I have all of that covered. It was still kind-of a shock, and I'm going to have to cancel our trip next weekend. (we were planning on going to the free Air Force day at Six Flags and then camping at the beach)
It's outpatient, and from what I've heard from others I will be fine in just a few days. I'm not thrilled, but at the same time I do look forward to the pain being gone.
Anys, just wanted to update.

Michelle,
Honestly the surgery is not that bad. You will have to take it easy for a lil bit but other than that you be just fine. I went in that morning and was home by around 1 o'clock that day resting. When it is al lsaid and done you will feel a lot better too. No more pain for you { except what ever happens during recovery of course --if any}

pain in the R upper quadrant of your abdomen, usually just underneath your ribs on the R side. i feel like i'm being stabbed in the chest shortly after i eat, sometimes for just a little while, other times for an hour or more. i also have a nagging soreness in my RUQ pretty much most of the time. symptoms are supposed to be worse when you eat protein or fatty foods, and since i'm always eating protein first, i almost always feel bad after eating. the pain also radiates behind my R shoulderblade, which is typical for GB pain. nausea and vomiting after eating are also signs, as are flatulence and pale (clay colored) stools.
