I'm totally against protein drinks, too, but only because they are all awful! I do, however, supplement my diet with an Odyssey bar every day. 30 g protein and they are pretty good. B: 1/3 C of low-fat hash and some shredded lite cheddar S: One lite string cheese L: Odyssey Bar S: six saltines with lite cheese and jalapeno spread D: One salmon burger patty (4 oz) with 1T of tartar sauce S: probably another string cheese. 3-4 bottles of crystal light lemonade Your meals look fine. How much exercise are you getting in? I walk about 1-1/2 to 2 miles a day, three days a week. Finally, have you been measuring? My wife has lost about 41 lbs since her surgery in March, but she's almost caught me in inches dropped. Greg (342/262/178)

I go to Curves 3X a week and walk for forty minutes (slightly less than 2 miles) 3X a week. From the way things are hanging on me, I think have dropped at least two clothes sizes. I have been procastinating on buying clothes. I don't want to waste money on things I might shrink out of quickly. Jan

BTW, Greg, thanks for turning me on to Odyssey bars. Absolutely lucious and it's lovely to get so much protein in so easily. I usually eat one a day -- spread out over the whole day. They do fill you up fast! Donna

You're very welcome, Donna! I'm glad you like them (the chocolate peanut butter is my favorite, but the chocolate caramel nut is great too--just gooey and messy). That's my favorite thing about obesityhelp...not just the attaboys we give each other, but sharing ideas and recipes and products that can really help! Doing great, Donna! Keep it up! B: 1/2 low carb asiago cheese bagel from Panera Bread. (10 g protein!!) S: AcheivOne latte protein drink (20g protein) L: PB&J (1 slice cut in half of Wheat N' Fiber bread, Carb Options PB, and Smuckers Sugar-free strawberry preserves) S: Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein drink D: Will probably nuke a Lean Cuisine dinner my hubby left behind, I typically eat all the meat out of it and then eat a few veggies if I still have room. This usually ends up being around 3oz of meat, 1oz of veggie. I try to drink at least 64 oz. of water, but lately I've only been getting a little over half of that b/c I've been cramping a lot. I use fitday.com to track my intake, I have been averaging about 650 calories a day, 70 grams of protein, 25 grams of fat, and 30 grams of carbs. My doctor kinda frowns on protein drinks too, but I don't care. I don't use them as a substitute for focusing on and eating protein first--which I always do--I use them as a supplement. I don't want my hair to fall out, and I've noticed that I lose faster when I get more protein in. I also love the Power Crunch protein bars, they're great when I'm craving something sweet.

This is what I've had today so far. B- one jalapeno popper (half a jalapeno with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, sausage, wrapped in a slice of bacon) about 120 calories. L-1/3 cup smoked pork shoulder I haven't decided on dinner but probably some eggs with sausage. My nutritionist has told me to only eat three times a day and if I have a protein shake, it counts as a meal so I would much rather just eat my three meals. Kerri -58lbs

Your menu sounds fine. 34 lbs is good. How much more do you have to lose. Those that have more to lose usually lose a bit faster than those that have like 100 lbs to lose. 100 lbs to lose is small potata's on this forum. haha!! Only here! But congrats on 34 lbs!! Imagine how much you would've GAINED had you NOT had the surgery!! Today this is what I ate - : Breakfast - 1 egg omelet with cheese, 1/4 cup homestyle potatoes Snack - 1/2 cup raisins Lunch - 1/2 cup chili with some fritos & shredded cheese, 1/4 cup green beans Snack - Chocolate protein drink Dinner - Wendy's Baked potato (about 1/4 of it), steamed broccoli at home Snack - Jello Pudding Pop (nope, it wasn't sugar free) Hugs, Trisha

I usually start the day with a protein shake made w/ 1 cup low carb milk, which takes me about 2 hours to drink (with ice it's almost 2 cups total volume) then a bottle of water. Late afternoon I might have a weigh****chers frozen meal, then another bottle of water. At night I might have a little snack, like 1/4c nuts or fat free chips. And of course another water and that's about it.
