HI everyone, Well it has been 9 weeks and I have lost 96 lbs. Unfortunetly I have done this because I have not eaten real food since 3/29 the day before I had my surgery. I still have a small leak which is healing very slowly. I even had a procedure to glue it closed which failed. It has not been bad until I have gone back to work and since I am a chef I had to see great food that smelled heavenly that I could not eat. I even manged to chew some and spit it out but that is just teasing me further. My Doc says 2 more weeks should do the trick and then after 3 months I can eat applesauce hurray. Joel Droba

Gosh, Joel. You're having to do it the hard way. I bet you never planned on this. I bet that applesauce is going to taste great. Hang in there! Heidi

Man, that's tough! During my surgery, they discovered a small leak after stapling, but they sutured it, made me take a swallow test, and determined I was fine. I've been thankful ever since that they were right. Look on the bright side, Joel, you've had one hell of a jump start! Greg (342/262/178)
