Gassy type pains in abdomin

Hi all, I'm back from my daughter's wedding in MD and am having pains in my abdomen that feel like gas. It gets worse by the end of the day and I can kind of feel the gas making bubbles or moving around. I tried the infant formula Gas X and some tums but am not getting much relief. I probably ate more than I should so worry that I may have stretched my pouch and caused a leak?! Or maybe I just ate too much of the wrong foods and my intestines are complaining. I had a tiny bit of wedding cake, part of a polish dog, some crab legs dunked in butter. Mostly I just had fish or peanut butter. I haven't put bread into my mouth since surgery and am avoiding it like the plague because I know how good it's going to taste and I'll overeat. So, do you think these pains will go away if I wait a few days? I called my doc and they can't get back to my until tomorrow. I actually see my pulmonologist today coincidentally about my cpap. Guess I could mention it to him but doubt he can help me. Heidi

Hey Heidi--I too get gas pains--all over actually. I was thinking about what you ate and here's what came to mind--even if you had a bit of wedding cake, the sugar might be upsetting your intenstines. Also, if the dog had any type of casing on it (like sausage or hot dog), your body might be say oh no! I find that if tums doesn't do the trick, pepcid helps. But I would call your doc just in case! Keep us updated! Courtney and FEEL BETTER!

Have you tried eating some yogurt? That usually does the trick for me. It's all those good bacteria. They battle the gas and usually win!! Just a suggestion.

Why are you taking the pediatric level of Gas-X? My surgeon okayed me to take the adult level of Gas-X and it works wonders. Try going to liquids for a day and see if that helps ease the pain. Try gas-x too or pepcid AC or something like that. If it continues, ask your surgeon. Hugs, Trisha
