Reflections of a 3-month Post-op
TODAY IS MY 3-MONTH ANNIVERSARY!
First of all, let me confess that I am a total lurker on the boards. But, with the encouragement of a couple of dear friends, I am posting some thoughts and WOW moments that I have encountered in my brief 3-month journey.
My journey has been with filled with a tremendous amount of "highs" which have far outweighed the "lows". In the past two weeks I have reached several of my personal milestones. Here are a couple, you may be able to relate to some of them:
- When I cross my legs, my leg actually hangs down instead of out - I no longer trip anyone who is trying to pass by me.
- I weigh less than my husband!
- I weigh less than I did when I became pregnant with my first child (who is now 9).
- Finally...I now weigh less than 200 lbs!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who posts. I read them often and you are such an encouragement. Here's to a continued successful journey to all of us!
Gail
-68 lbs
Gail--congrats on your accomplishments. I"m so glad you posted. It's amazing how these small personal goals mean to us--and how people without extra weight don't even thing of them. A few weeks ago there was a post about being able to sit in booths and how great it was to just sit down...I too am excited I can cross my legs (mine still stick out though) but before I couldn't even cross em!
Keep up the kick butt job!

Hi Gail,
I'm so glad you de-lurked to tell us how you're doing! Congratulations on your accomplishments so far! I can particularly relate to "weighing less than husband" - I have never weighed less than any of my boyfriends. Until now! It was my first milestone. Next: Under 300
Keep up the good work, and please keep us posted about how you're doing!

Congratulations Gail,
I can totally relate with weighing less than my hubby. It feels so good. I love your list and have several of my own. This kind of thing really opens peoples eyes to what they have accomplished.
Thank you for opening mine! Sometimes we forget the milestones we are turning up.
Keep up the excellent work!

Congrats, Gail!! 68 lbs is awesome!!
I was able to cross my legs at the knee a couple weeks ago myself and it's an amazing feeling!! I haven't been able to do that for years. Congrats on weighing less than your husband. That's great!!! Congrats on being in a new century!! You'll never be over 200 lbs again!! Kiss that part of the scale goodbye forever!!!
Keep up the good work, and come out of lurkdom!!
Hugs,
Trisha
