Stricutre Update

Howdy all... well, I got ahold of my doctor and he doesn't want to scope me until later this week... he wants me to try a drug called Reglin... I guess it helps your intestines digest food better and go down easier... I am willing to try anything, but in a way I wish they would just scope me and get it over with... I am just going to cross my fingers and hope this drug works... Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers today... I couldn't do it without each and every one of you!!

Hi Paula! I certainly understand how you feel. Interestingly enough, I had surgery on 3/30, and just had my 3rd scope this past Friday. It gets very frustrating when the strictures keep occurring. Just wanted to pass along what they have done for me. Each time they did the scopy and did a dilatation with a balloon. This last time, since I've never gone more than 2 weeks without having to have another scope....they did the balloon, but he also used a guide wire to push through it, as well as also injected my stomach with medicine called Kenalog which is an anti inflammatory in hopes that will keep it from closing up. Just thought I'd share the process as I'm hoping that my 3rd time will be charm. I'm really over this stricture business as it makes it so difficult to eat and drink. I did perfect for the 1st 3 weeks after surgery, and since then I have had strictures with scopes less than @ 2 weeks. Good Luck. If I were you I wouldn't put it off. After all, you're the one who has to deal with the issues of not being able to eat/drink et****il they do the scope. Take Care and God Bless, Sue
