I am having a hard time finding protein bars out their that are high in protein and low in sugar.I keep hearing they are out there but i just can't find any...If anyone has a bar to suggest i would really appreciate the name or names...I live in canada but do get to MIchigan a couple of times a week..I find my protein drinks get warm by the time i go to drink them where a bar could be in my glovecompartment ready to go if i end up staying out past a meal time..I have lost 53 pounds in the eight weeks since surgery .

Best tasting protein bars out there in my opinion is the Zone Peanut butter crunch bars...16 grams of protein and they taste AWESOME!

They're not exactly protein bars, but the new South Beach Diet cereal bars are fairly high in protein (I think it's like 14g) and low in sugar. Slim-fast also makes a breakfast bar for low carb diets, they have like 15g of protein and are also low in sugar. I tried a I also order Power Crunch bars from Bariatric Eating (there is usually a link to the site in the ads on this page) and they're heavenly, but higher calorie so I usually only eat half at a time. The peanut butter is kinda like Reeses Sticks, they all have a sugar-wafter type consistency. I like all the varieties. Congrats on your loss!! Michelle

Quaker makes a snack bar called "Q-Smart". There are two flavors: Cranberry Almond and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. They have 120 cal, 6g fat, 9g carbs, 1 sugar, 5 sugar alcohol and 10 protein. I also like the ones from South Beach, but they have 7 sugars. Congratulations on the weight loss, way to go. Cheryl

I eat Odyssey bars (I hear you can find them at Wal-Mart, I know you can find them at Trader Joe's; or you can order them through bariatriceating.com). They're 30g protein, the "sugar alcohol" is maltitol (I have to eat it very slowly, over a couple of hours, or else I get nauseous), and they taste great (I love the chocolate peanut butter bars)

My friend swears by the Strive Protein bars. (except the berry flavor). They are not as dense as most protein bars. They are kind of like the Zone bars without any sugar. 1 bar: (2.1 ounces) 190 calories 20 grams of protein 0 grams of sugar
