Need Help!!!!!!!
Can u tell me what u are eating, drinking and doing for excersize in a day, because i just do not seem to be losing weight and i need some encouragement here because iam so frustrated.I just want to say forget this(like any other diet i have been on)but we all know i can't do that, which is a good thing.I have been getting in about 60-75 grams of protein and drinkling about 55-60ounces of fluids, but i have been real bad about excersize,so iam going to start walking this week.I just assumed i would lose more than 30lbs in almost 2 months.Thank you ahead of time for your replies.

Hi Rechelle,
It sounds to me like you are doing ok on fluids and protein and that what you need to throw in there is exercise. Also remember tho that some of the BIG losses you see on this board are from people who had alot more to lose than you did. You body is still adjusting to the instant starvation mode that we throw it into when we have surgery. It will come off. My weight has been stalled for awhile too. I lose a few lbs and then stall again and I started out at 285 lbs so you would think that I too would be losing faster. Be patient...it will come off.
Pat yourself on the back for what you have already lost and will never see again. I find that I am having to constantly talk myself out of being discouraged because I wanted to be one of those people that lose 100 lbs in 5 months! Hang in there!

Hey Rechelle. I've been getting my protein primarily from fish. I also was stalled and it's not coming off as fast as I thought and hoped it would. The point is, it's coming off. I've been doing a lot of "self talking" telling myself that it's gonna happen, I just have to be patient. I'm finally getting some energy back and that has helped a lot. Just hang in there. Did you take measurements before surgery? If so, go measure because I lost inches when I wasn't losing pounds.
Cheryl
Rechelle,
I'm sure you have heard it before. Don't compare yourself to others, just keep plugging along. I'm am EXACTLY in the same place you are. We had surgery on the same day and I'm also down 30 pounds since surgery.
Try to measure your success in different ways, other than the scale. I'm happy with the way my clothes are feeling these days.
Good Luck,
Suzanne.
Rechelle,
You are doing great! Thirty pounds in two months is nothing to sneeze at, especially the way you are getting all of your protein and liquids in. I WISH I was doing as well as you in that department. I have lost lots of weight due to some eating problems (probably stricture) but I would much rather lose a little bit slower and know that I was doing right by my body like you are. It will come off!

I eat an average of maybe 500-600 calories a day, 50 grams of protein a day (trying to increase that), 30 grams of carbs a day (trying to decrease that) and as much water as I can drink. (at least 32 oz but usually 48-64 oz) I use fitday.com to track my eating and exercise habits. I try to walk a mile every day on my lunch break at work--while some days I have too many errands to run, I try to go at least 3 days a week. We recently got a bowflex, I was cleared by my surgeon to do some light weight training a few weeks ago, but with my husband being deployed this Thursday, I've been too busy to use it. I plan on starting it next week, don't want these batwings to get any worse!!
Really from what you've said, you just need to start exercising. I don't know how many calories you're eating, but I've heard of some people mistakenly buying meal replacement type protein drinks, not realizing they're loaded w/calories, and that can stall your weight loss.
Just keep at it, 30 lbs. is still a great loss in the grand scheme of things! Don't give up! I was also getting discouraged seeing all the huge losses on this board, but then I realized that #1. I had my surgery on the last day of the month, so some of you are 3-4 weeks ahead of me, and #2. Everyone is different, and those with more to lose will lose much faster.

hi, I think you are doing good, but probably you need to excersize I'm not talking going to the gym, but just walking, I lost 60 lbs, in about 10 wks
but I walk 30 minutes 3-4 times a wk, I joint the gym about 7 wks ago but still I don't feel comfortable going, now I'm losing weight very slowly not like in the beginning, now i'm eating 3 times a day and still drink a shake and drink alot of fluids,I'm using isopure shakes, propel water and regular water and when I'm hungry I get a snack like piece of fruit or my shake
my main food is tuna, fish, chicken and veggies, I'm not eating salads, but I do eat fresh salsa, I eat beans but not refried, mashed potatos w/water not milk, no pasta and no cheese, I know is hard but I think you're doing ok, I bet when you're start walking you're gonna feel great, don't give up because this not like the diets we try before, come on get out there and start walking 10 min like I did at the begining, and you'll see in about a wk
how good you're going to feel..... good luck
Wish they had a little emoticon that let me smack you! I am gonna drive up the hill and steal your scale! You are doing great! Breathe... relax... no stressing allowed!
You are doing really well.. if I hadn't seen it in my friends that had surgery before me... I probably would stress too... but unfortunately you are normal!
Hugs,
Tonya

I feel just like you Rechelle and I'm 7 weeks post op. It's was good to hear the encouraging words from others to you. I'm so glad I logged on the website. I have read some encouraging replys on the March surgery webboard. keep plugging along and try water aerobics I joined a class this week. Hopefully I will see some improvement in my weight loss efforts.
