2 weeks out curious about food
i'm 2 weeks out as of today and so far so good no problems except a couple of episodes of constipation and eating too much. I had the fobi pouch and have been on full liquids for a week now. I'm just curious as to when some of you went to the pureed food stage and when you did what type of food did you eat?? The thought of blending food is gross to me. I don't have my first post-op appt till next thursday so I still have no idea how much weight i've lost thus far which is starting to drive me nuts i've gone through alot and I want to see some benefits you know Anyways if any of you have any advice please feel free to post looking forward to your suggestions.
Sounds like you're really doing well. If I were you, I'd wait until my doctor's appointment to weigh (that's what I actually did). In the first two weeks you often retain water which gives you a false read on your weight. I started pureed food at 2 weeks. I ate cottage cheese, tuna and chicken salad and lots of baby food (fruit, which is delicious and vegetables, which tasted good too). I drank V-8 and made oatmeal in the morning. I didn't puree the tuna, chicken, or oatmeal. I just chewed and chewed.
I went to pureed foods at 2 weeks, too. I really didn't puree all of my foods, I stuck to stuff like mashed yams, beets, and things were already very soft and chewed a lot. I would reccomend putting meats in a food processor, even if it's just enough to cut it up into really tiny pieces. Canned chicken, finely shredded cheese, and a little bit of miracle whip free, all "pulsed" together made a great chicken salad.
