Bad Time...
Courtney, I have not read the other posts so if this is a repeat I am sorry.
My Doctor says that it is normal he calls it frothing. Thick mucus that can be hard to get up. He told me that what it is, is the stomach is healing and it produces mucus. I was told to drink warm to hot (hot works better for me) and I also add in some lemon juice(our stomach before had some acid to break down the mucus and now it does not). I now can eat without feeling that stuff rising up and coming out. I was the same with water. Please try hot decaf tea with the lemon and I hope it works for you. There are other posts on here about foaming and frothing if you do a search you can see them. The lemon or lime juice has saved me and I drink this first thing in the morning and last thing at night. It took me a day of clear liquids then the next day I was able to eat a bit. I was also told that milk products also are a contributing factor.
I hope this helps. Please keep us posted.
I forgot to say that I also take gas x soft gels 125mg. every 8 hours to get the gas out. I thought the pill would get stuck and my Doctor said no it would not, so I tried it and I have not foamed in over 2 weeks! THis also in combination with my other post.
Of course ask your Doctor if these pills and the teas are ok.
Courtney, I felt the same way about 3 weeks out of surgery... I couldnt keep anything down... come to find out I had a stricture... Maybe you do too... has your doctor said anything about doing a scope on you to find out what is going on? The scope is totally harmless... it doesnt hurt at all and actually I was kinda out of it and didnt know anything was going on... Maybe that is what is wrong with you??? Keep your head up... I will say a prayer for you!!
Hey Paula--turns out that I did have a stricture. Came home from the hospital yesterday, but I still have that 'sour' feeling--although I am better than I was!!!! I will most likely have to go back again in 2 weeks and be stretched out more. I did have a hard time w/the concious sedation and will have to go to sleep next time--my throat hurt yesterday and today, but that is easing. At least I can get liquids down!
Anyway, thanks for your prayers--I need em!
Courtney
I just read that you ended up finding out that you had a stricture... I am sorry you were feeling so bad. When you are having to deal with being sick on top of with how you're feeling after the surgery I don't blame you for feeling that way. I am sure you are tired of hearing that things will be better down the road, but hang in there and I hope things are going better for you now that the situation has been taken care of.
