Hello everyone, I am 6 weeks post op today and down 43 lbs. It's been hard coping with this whole new way of life but I am getting used to it. The only thing is I still can't seem to fit two protein supplements down in a day I can only manage one. Well let me know how you all are dealing with protein supplements.

I am 6 weeks post op as of yesterday! Down 40 pounds, I think. (I had to cancel my doctors appointment.) Anyway, I am drinking an unjury with silk for breakfast (26g of protein) and unjury with orange crystal lite in the evening (20g), added to the low carb/higher protein diet-I think I am getting everything in. Congrats on your loss, keep up the good work! Rebecca R

My doctor doesn't want me eating supplements every day. We are supposed to try and get the protein we need in our food and use supplements occasionally. Have you tried keeping track of just the food protein you are getting? If might not be to far from what you need.

Hey Antoinette, we have the same surgeon. Dontcha just love him? Anyway, to answer your question, I use the chocolate Unjury with FF milk in the morning (just like chocolate milk) and then at dinner I'll mix in a scoop of the Unjury unflavored into some SF FF pudding or something else similar.

I like the ISOPURE drinks. 20 oz and 40g of protein. It takes me a couple of hours to fini**** If you haven't tried it, it's kind of like kool-aid or gatorade. They have about 8 different flavors. You can get some at GNC Suzanne

I have been struggling with the protien and for past week just kinda gave up with trying to get it all in but deciding that the whole point of this surgery is to be healthy I again went back to trying! I am so glad. At Wallmart I found these drinks called Cofffee House, EAS Advant Edge, Cafe Caramel, 1 gram impact carbs 110 calories 99% fart free, 15 G of protein. I pour it in blender with just a handfull of ice and about a half cup of water and toss in one scoop of my chochalate Isopure (which has 25 G of protien in one scoop and no carbs) It is truly good tasting like not just good for a protien shake but truly enjoyable good. I pour half of it in a glass, drink and the other half I just put the blender in fridge and drink the rest a couple hours later. Being told our bodies can only absorb 30 grams of protien at a time I just split it up. I believe this will make the protein drinking som much easier for some.

Thanks to all of you for your imput, my problem is i am not eating enough food so i need the protein supplements. Food no longer taste good to me since i can't eat the whole thing. I know it's bad not to eat enough but i am having a problem with it right now, i am sure it will get better at least i hope.

Congrats on your loss so far!!! I am having a hard time getting my 2 protein shakes in as well. I have tried a few different brands and have a hard time handling the taste. I found a chocolate one at Costco and that one seems to be the one that I can handle the best! I hope you can maybe find one to where it will be easier for you to get both in. I am slowly adjusting and I usually have one in the morning and one at night. Bonnie
