Smar****er
If you are experiencing the runs or throwing up at all, you should be drinking SMAR****ER. It's a brand of water sold in the water section of your grocery store or health food store. It is distilled water WITH added electrolytes. Another good one is PROPEL - "fitness water". It's flavored and has the added electrolytes to it.
I'm not throwing up lately, but I had major constipation yesterday. So I took some Milk of Magnesia (cherry flavor) last night and boy oh boy, does that work! Now I'm having the OPPOSITE problem. So I'm drinking smar****er to replace the electrolytes that are being depleted when I'm having the runs right now. Ugh!!
Don't drink Gatorade. It is too high in sugar. Reach for Smar****er (which tastes like regular bottled water) or Propel (fruit flavored water) instead after your work outs, after you throw up or while you are having the runs. It's important that we replace the electrolytes (potassium, magnesium and calcium). Just an fyi.
Haven't tried Smar****er, but I love Propel. I was surprised that they gave it to me in the hospital, but my surgeon says it's good stuff b/c of the added vitamins. I get bored with plain water (it's all I drink at work) and drink Propel at home. I love the black cherry, melon, and peach flavors. I've seen Smar****er at Winn-Dixie, I'll have to try some.

I'm having that constipation thing. I can't stand it. This is the third week in a row. I don't go for a week, then have to take Philips. I took it Wednesday and went, but not a ton. I'm a bit worried. I felt a bit crampy last night and took some more, and this morning NOTHING. NADA. ZIP. ZILCH.
I just want regular BM's :::sigh:::

Hmmm "regular", now what does that really mean? I used to be "regular" before surgery, and that "regular" was very different from my sister's "regular". So with our new bodies, who's to say what is "regular" I think we can all agree that 1 week is too long, especially if you are uncomfortable.
I am also having this trouble. I have taken MOM and I didn't have much happen, I've also had the same reaction to suppositories. Sometimes it helps a little, but doesn't completly take care of the problem. This week I started taking colace twice a day and I've still had to use a suppository at least twice this week. I feel like a have a lazy bowel. I have to sit in the bathroom FOREVER before I can go and even then I can't get rid of everything (is this too much info?).
Hang in there, keep in touch with your doctor and keep up with the fluids. I've been in touch with my nurse weekly letting her know if something isn't working and then we try something else. I think Melissa R has also been having this trouble and went to a prescription strength colace to help her out.
Good Luck!
