I found this site last night at work and can't believe I haven't been here yet. I had my open GBS on 3/25/05 and love that there is a board where everyone is kind of at the same place. I have lost 31lbs in 6 weeks now and was a little frustrated with that because I stalled big time for a couple of weeks. Things are picking up though and the pool at my gym opens TODAY... I'm so excited to get moving. (I had a terrible broken ankle a couple years ago and 3 surgeries later still can't walk a whole lot). I'm eating pretty well so far. Haven't found anything that I can't tolerate yet. I am eating regular high protien foods mostly. No issues with dumping and I can eat sugar - snacks here and there... no sugar drinks of course. I feel pretty good except I'm still pretty tired at times. I'm an RN and the 12 hours shifts have been a challenge. Well that is good enough for now I guess I look forward to talking to everyone and the support I can tell this board will bring. Patty GBS-3/25/05 266/235/....

So glad you found the board. Lack of stamina was my only issue after surgery too. At about week 4, my energy started to build. Congrats on your weight loss.

Welcome Patty, this board is such a great resource. Glad your here. I had Open RNY 3/30/05 and am down 23 lbs. Sometimes I get discourage by the number but just have to remember to use our tool and it will come off eventually. Anyway, glad your posting. Hugs, Jodi

Of course there's room. Welcome. I soooo enjoy this message board. There's just enough people to get a lot of posts but not too many so you get to learn their names and stories. Everyone is soooo supportive. It feels like you just got a lot of best friends. Congrats on your weight loss! My surgery was right after yours-3/28. Last check I was down 36 lbs. I'm not enjoying eating. I can only eat a spoonful or so. Have to eat real slowly. Enjoy the site, I know I do. Hugggs, Heidi
