I'm back, was in a nasty gardening accident!
Yeehaa, I am finally back! Three weeks ago I was outside and decided to burn a little brush and some leaves. I had just lit the fire on some dead grass and walked away to the other end of the yard to get some sticks and leaves and stuff. I looked down and my jeans were on fire! I sat down and put myself out. it took a few because the wind picked up a little. When I finally got that out I looked and I had tracked fire across the whole yard. I ran and got the hose and put it out. Knowing I was burned I put my daughter in the car (very calmly I may add) and drove down the street to my friend's house where my son was. Her husband came out and I showed him my burn and he freaked out. He drove me to the local hospital where they shipped my directly into Boston where they kept me a darn week. I went into surgery the next day with a deep second and third degree burn. Who would've guessed? So as of Sunday I am off crutches and am able to get to the basement to get online and say hit to y'all. Weight loss is doing great. Couldn't eat a thing for the entire time I was in the hospital for the burn, then for about a week after due to the heavy med I was on. I was threatened by the burn team that if I didn't eat before I left they would stuck an ng tube down my throat and feed me that way. I choked down lunch and in the car! I had to get out of there! So now at weeksix I have lost forty pounds! I am now at 205 woohoo!
So remember kids, if you ever catch yourself on fire stop, drop and roll!
Love, Kristey
PS, hubby is a firefighter! The nurses thought that was so funny!
The burn team THREATENED you with an NG tube? You can NOT have an NG tube put down you - it'll RUIN your operation and you should have a medical alert bracelet that says that. No NG tube at all. Threats or no threats.
That being said, wow, glad you are okay. How scary!! And it is that you are a firefighter's wife. LOL You are so cute!! But gosh, you never know how serious fire is until you go to hospital and they say words like 2nd and 3rd degree burns. Wow.
Glad your back and doing better. Congrats on 40 lbs!! That is awesome!! Soon you'll be in a new century - below 200 - never to see the 200's ever again!! That'll happen this week!!
