50 lbs gone in 8 weeks!

My surgery was 3/8 and as of today I am down 50 lbs exactly. I have found that the more protein I eat/drink in a day the more I lose! I keep finding out new info and each week is better than the week before. Did you know you should have your calcium citrate on an empty stomach so it absorbs better and you can ONLY absorb 500mg at a time, so space it out throughout the day and don't take at the same time as iron or multi-vitamins. So many little things like that that are soooo important!!

Nicely done, Trisha. I had my surgery the day before you and I met my 8 week goal today--277 lbs, a total loss of 65 lbs! Isn't this FUN?

Way to go Trish! Job well done. My 8 week visit was this past Friday, and 61 lbs., have melted away. Joined Curves, walking three times a week, life is good. Take care and continue to move forward. Traci L

Awesome! I need to get better about my protein too, I usually manage to get at least one shake in. I typically get about 50-60 grams of protein total (with the one shake) but I also noticed I lose more when I drink 2 a day. Taking calcium citrate with iron is a big no-no, thanks for pointing that out for those who do not know. Thankfully my multi doesn't have iron in it (i take my iron separately) so I don't have to worry about not taking it with my multis. Also, any of you on Depo-Provera shots need to get extra calcium in, they recently put a black box warning on it b/c it leaches calcium out of your bones if you don't supplement. A good time to add a dose is at bedtime.

Hi Trisha, Excellant job!!!! I think I will up my protein and see if it helps me lose more. How much do you get in per day? You should be so very proud of yourself and so should everyone who has posted here. We are all doing the best we can to learn to deal with a new life and I think we all deserve a pat on the back! Keep up the good work everyone. Trisha thanks for the tips on calcium too.
