1 month update, pics!
I had laparoscopic RNY on 3/31/05, I've lost 32 lbs. as of this morning, and I'm feeling great! Had a very uneventful surgery and was up and around when I got home. I'm on a regular diet as of last week, but I'm just trying new things one at a time. Haven't thrown up yet, only had a few things make my pouch grumbly, and I'm finally able to get in my water and protein on a regular basis. Did find out that I dump on sugar, thanks to the HFCS in liquid Tylenol, ugh. My limit seems to be about 9 grams per serving, b/c I can eat Tofutti Cuties (miniature tofu non-dairy "ice cream" sandwiches, they're decadently good!) without dumping. Losing a little hair, but not enough to stress over yet, I've been taking biotin for the past 2 weeks. Haven't dropped any sizes yet, but my clothes fit me pretty tightly before surgery anyway, and now they are getting very loose! Started walking a mile a day on my lunch break w/a co-worker, and will hopefully start using our Bowflex soon. (had some nasty migraines and an abcessed tooth that kept me pretty down this week) Got some bad news this week as well. (hubby is being deployed for 4 months, he's going to come home and wonder where his wife went!) Anys, just wanted to update! I figured I'd take a picture on my anniversary every month, b/c I can't see my loss until I look at a picture, and I'll have a neat series of progress pictures. My photos are at the bottom of my profile, I would put them in the post but I'm not sure if HTML works in these forums.

Michelle,
Your looking good, and it sounds like you are doing great. I'm sorry about your DH. I remember those days when my DH was in the Navy. I hope it goes quickly for you. At least you'll have your son home in the summer to keep you busy. I got my surgery the day before you, and as of last Sunday I was down 22 lbs. So you are doing terrific. My clothes are also feeling loose. I can't wait to go down some sizes.
Keep up the good work!
Eileen
