Eating... a little worried.
OK, I'm obsessing a little, but I really can eat more than I hear a lot of folks are eating.

I'm going in on May 5 for my one month follow up, so I'm taking this diary with me to discuss with my Doc... I just don't know if I'm screwing u*****t.
I was also worried about not being able to eat everything I was "supposed" to eat. I talked to my doctor, the nurse, and other people who were months out. They all said the same thing: "Very often in the first months you can't eat everything. That's normal. Just stop eating when you're full. As the months go by you'll be able to eat more. Don't worry."
Most of this stuff seems to be okay, in that, when you have listed amounts, are about 1/2C. I'm eating between 1/4 and a half (being in mind it's soft food) per meal and it's okay. Don't worry so much about calories, but more about the amount of protein you are totalling per day.
But, absolutely show your doctor. He'll tell you if he's happy or not.
Doesn't sound like you are eating more than the 1/4 to 1/2 cup per meal. I only eat three times a day but each of my meals is about the same as one of yours. For example, today I had a quarter of a cheeseburger (minus the bun) for breakfast (it was leftover from the night before) and for lunch I just had a quarter of a cup of hormel's mac and beef. For dinner, I'll probably have some shredded beef with some peppers and a little cheese. Yum! Anyways, I think you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work

Congratulations on your progress! I am 6 weeks post op today, and I am 81 pounds down. I have been following my doctors food list to the letter, and been getting great results. I guess my doctor is a little more strick than yours, some of those things are on my "no-no" list.
Hot dogs, pizza toppings, & nuggets are all things they told me to avoid. I agree with the others, talk to your doctor and get his take on the "high fat" foods.
Good luck!
I was concerned about the amount I was able to consume as well, and spoke to my surgeon about it. He said that food varies so mu*****onsistency and volume that it really depends on what you are eating. When I was eating nothing but pureed soup, I could eat a whole can, but when I tried a chicken breast, I ate maybe three or fours SMALL bites and was at my limit. I tried a hamburger patty with cheese and one night I was able to eat almost half of the SMALL patty, and the next night after 3 bites I was stuffed. Maybe when you try new and "harder" food, you will notice not being able to eat much at all.

Wow Derrick what a diet...I wish I could eat like that..I get sick on meat real easily..today I've had 3 small bites of a burrito and don't feel that great..I have to drink my protein shakes, yogurt, cheese...I also have a real hard time with eggs..I try to avoid carbs altogether. I know I shouldn't even eat the little bit of tortilla I had..but I get worried that I'm not eating enough at all...I try to eat 3 x's a day but usually only 2x's if lucky....let us know what your doctor says about the hot dogs and macaroni and chicken strips...I'm very courious...good luck..
Hi! Your diet looks quite a bit like mine. I was worried about the snacks in between meals, but I am generally starving after 3 hours and a string cheese or some beef jerky will hold me over till my next meal.
I've been living on chicken tenders, myself. Beef is not sitting well yet, other than beef jerky
When I went for my 4 week check up, my nutritionist was upset that I was only getting 2-300 calories a day, and told me I had to up it to 6-800 - which surprised me.
I don't think your screwing up, but I would see if they have any calorie guidelines for you. it might help to keep track.
Congratulations on your weight loss!!
I wish that was all I was eating! I could out eat any of these posted messages! I was eating a full meal (hamburger with bun, mayo & cheese, cooked veggies and a couple of chips for example) as if I had never had the surgery so I went to my doctor and I just got my first fill this Monday and I'm back on pureed! Yippee! I had only lost 13 pounds in my first week post op and nothing since. I was following the 1200 calorie diet for the past 3 weeks and working out everyday but gained 2 pounds. Needless to say I was getting pretty discouraged but since Monday I have taken off 3 pounds. I haven't experienced a full feeling yet so I'm hoping when I get to the more soft foods I will notice the change from the fill. Good luck and keep up the great loss!
