You'll never know how much your star shone
We'll keep you always in our hearts.
You brightened up the California Board
And hoped so desperately for new starts
We all the know the risks when we take the final step
But never do we really think it will be
The last smile, the last kiss, the final hug
The last dream that will never come to be
You spent your life being close to God
And as a nurse you served him well
You've suffered and endured far too much
For one so willing to always do well
We bid you farewell, but not from our hearts
God speed you on your way
Remember us here struggling towards dreams
And for us all please pray
We know that you can move with ease now
And jump and run around those blessed shores
Your burdens have been lifted, your body set free
And we celebrate your soul as it soars
And when we lift our voices, our glasses, our hearts
To toast a life so brave and true
The California Board will shout your name
And the smiles will remind us of you
