Take the bread away

One of the most difficult thing to resist when at a restaurant is the bread that just sits there waiting for me to eat it. Olive Garden (OMG), should I say more. Anyway, I figured out I could just ask the waitress to take the bread away. It works. Waitress doesn't get offended and I don't have to resist it. I'm sure we could ask the waitress to take away anything that is tempting. Hope this helps. Huggggs, Heidi

What an elegant solution. Very good advice.

Good idea! Then you don't have to deal with the temptation of wanting it... does sound good though Bonnie

Hi Heidi. You and I had surgery the same day. And you've been to Olive Garden already? You're braver that me. I haven't ventured to try to eat out yet. Good idea to get rid of the bread! You're going to do great, I can tell. Cheryl

When I was on Atkins, I would actually tell the waitress to NOT bring the bread that way I don't even see it. It's hard resisting bread like at Olive Garden, Outback, Red Lobster, etc. I'm 7 weeks out and haven't eaten at those restaurants yet since surgery, but plan on doing the same thing when I go there in the future. Two bites of bread would fill me up now and I couldn't enjoy the meal. Thanks for sharing this tid bit. Things like this help us when we are out in the real world!!
