It is usually caused by being dehydrated. I was nausaus ALL the time even when drinnking water. But the doc told me to push through it with water. I drank it warm, with lemon and with cumcumber to help change the PH. It was not easy nor fun, but I haven't been nauseas like that since. Hang in there.

I haven't had nausea but protein drinks made me "queasy." I experimented with different drinks and substituting soy for milk and it didn't matter. I got sick. Although I'm supposed to be eating only pureed food right now, I decided to eat protein bars very slowly. Nibble on them during the day. That has worked and I feel better about getting the protein I need. Good luck.

Try drinking 3-4 oz of hot tea or ho****er with lemon and honey about 20-30 mins before you eat and see if that helps. Is it only happening with protein drinks? If so, maybe you are becoming lactose intolerant - very common after surgery. Also, are you NOT drinking 1/2 hour before, during and a 1/2 hour after your meal? Drinking close to meal times causes nausea. Hope this helps!

I totally understand your problem since I had it also. They told me about being dehydrated but it really was not that. I then learned that they type of protein I was trying to drink was what the problem was. I was trying to drink whey concentrate and not the whey protein isolate. I have stopped drinking the whey concentrate and switched to isopure ready to drink ( at gnc) and it has made all the difference in the world. I am lactose intolerant since before the surgery and I read that they whey concentrate had lactose in it. I also used the soymilk with it and still the same effect. You might want to try the whey protein isolate only such as unjury at unjury.com it works great! as well as the GNC isopure. I drink the ready to drink since in 20 ounces it has 40g of protein and I get 20 ounces of fluid at the same time. I hope it gets better for you. I hope this helps.Margie P.S. check your ingredients list on your protein try to see that the protein isolate is the only one listed if not then there is probably lactose in it.
