My 1 month aniversary is Thursday and my 4 week follow up was yesterday. I'm down to 333 from 375 = 42 pounds. (Men lose faster than women and it's one of the few times it pays to be a man!) I wish I was losing more but I'll take whatever I can get. It's great to be able to walk a full mile at a good clip and not be drenched in sweat or gasping for air. Dave

Doc told me that the average is 20lbs the first month and 10-15lbs the following months (for women). So 24lbs means you are above the average!! Have courage. I am in the 200s now and that was my first goal, to leave the 300s behind forever!! I REFUSE to own a scale. I decide that if I didn't have one, I can't get know day to day what my weight is. I only weigh myself at the doctor's office. I know my clothes fit loser and that is enough. My sleep apnea is gone (after only 20lbs that happened) so if I have only lost one lbs this week or 15 it doesn't matter because I'm feeling better.

I also had surgery the same day as you. You sound like you are doing fine. I hit a plateau @ 2 weeks that lasted for two weeks I just broke through in the last two days. I increased my walking and my water, and tried very hard to get my protien increased also. Keep your chin up!!! I am down 39 pounds now @ 1 month 1 day!

I'm one month out tomorrow.. So, I'm 30 days.. I think this is normal... I lost 24 lbs also... Our bodies think we are in starvation mode so its hanging on to the fat. It'll come off . It has to!!! Vivian

My surgery date was 3/14. The first 9 days I lost 23 lbs. Between my first and second doctors visits I only lost 7. But once I went back to work it has started coming off faster. So don't get discouraged!! Just let your body readjust and stay on the same path! Malia
