Girl talk...
I"m due for my period in the next few days, but just as a side note--I got my period the night before my surgery--I thought I was going to DIE. I was mortified, in pain and had major surgery--let me tell you, I was not a happy camper. At least I know if I'm late, it's normal. Thanks for the great question!
Oh those period blues..... I have never been regular and like so many women who are historically overweight... I never had children because of irregular periods..... (sigh).... my Bariatric Cordinator.... told all of us that our periods would be messed up and not to panic... she also told us that even if we previously could not get pregnant.... to be extra careful as that will change... unfortunatley for me.. at 41.... it's WAY TO LATE to have babies..... my last period was last Oct..... so yep... I'm late... LOL!!!!
I had my period while at the hospital 3 days after the first surgery, same day as the second surgery. It was a very pathetic period, not that I was complaining. And now I'm late. Doc say that our hormones are doing weird things now and adjusting themselves, so later periods, unusal bleeding is all part and parcel of the WLS. It will eventually level out and be normal.
Becuase of this unpredicablity of the whole thing, it is really important that we make sure not to get pregnant.
Hey girl;
Just wanted to let you know that it would be a miracle if I got pregnate! I am 50 and had a tubaligation back in 1981. I don't think I could handle kids nowadays. My oldest daughter is going to make me a Grandma for the first time this year so that is as far as I go in having kids.
