Weight loss update - 6 weeks

I am six weeks out today and my loss for last week was 9lbs. That makes me feel much better than the rate I was going for awhile. That makes 17lbs in the last 2 weeks and 63lbs overall. At this rate, I will be under 400 in two more weeks. This might sound crazy, but I'll feel almost normal in the 300's compared to the 478 I started at! I thought I might be able to drop a hundred in the first 2 months, but it looks like I will fall short. Perhaps that wasn't realistic, but I'll take nice steady reductions like the last two weeks. I can put on my shoes and socks without use of heavy machinery (), and I am back into old work pants that I saved on my way up the weight scale. A new belt is in the near future also as I have already drilled too many new holes in my current one and it goes half way around my side now! Hope everyone is doing great! Chris S.

This is great news. Congratulations. I know what you mean about feeling "normal" at weights that are still pretty high. Looks like you have plenty of good motivators going.

Hi Chris, WOW...you post really moved my heart strings! You are amazing and are doing an excellent job. I think we all want to loss faster than we are but what is so amazing to me is that we will never have to lose these pounds again if we behave ourselves. Sounds like you are doing marvelous. Isn't it fun to notice the little changes everyday...like your shoes and socks, your belt, new old pants! I am just now starting to notice those things at 2 1/2 weeks out. Congrats on your 63lb loss...it is great! Roxi

Congrats, Chris!! That is super!! You are doing a great job. Yeah, my weight loss slowed down a bit 2-3 weeks post-op and it was VERY frustrating. But we know it'll eventually come off. It's hard not to weigh daily though. Be patient! Last week I was putting my socks on too and I was like, OMG, I just put my ankle on my other thigh with ease and didn't have to gasp for breath. It's small things like that that makes weight loss fun!!! Keep up the good work!! I agree! Time for a new belt too!!

Right on, bud! Crossing the "00's" is an exciting milestone and I'll celebrate with you when you do it. I crossed 300 a few weeks ago and am at 289 at the moment, a total of 53 lbs in my first six weeks. The belt holes are a fun indicator. I wear a stretch belt, and pre-op, I was on the last hole...I've jumped four holes since then! My wife took a pic of me yesterday. I happened to be wearing the same shirt I had worn pre-op and the change was stunning. I will post it on my profile today! Keep up the good fight, Chris! Greg
