hi, at this point, I am on soft foods- scrambled eggs, applesauce, mushy fruit, chicken salad, soft vegetables. I had a few bites of a frozen entree today, chicken and mashed potatoes. But nothing tastes right to me. I don't see how I am going to get protein from food when I can't eat very much. But I hope this little list of foods helps you somewhat.

I've been eating tuna, hamburger patties, some limited chicken, and I try to have a few bites of vegetables (summer squash and green beans are very easy to chew and get down). I even ate some meatloaf at CottonPatch Restaurant and it did fine. I use the rule of solid, but still soft and fairly easy to turn into mush by chewing!

I think it's important that we supplement with protein drinks right now. I look at it like this, when you are introducing a baby to food, you start out with a little bit just to see if they have any trouble with it. At that point they are still getting all of their nurishment from their bottle.

I'm on the pureed stage. This is what I'm having now. cottage cheese & canned fruit yogurt eggbeaters mashed potatos w/ground been and gravy ricotta cheese w/spaghetti sauce soup (I add some protein powder) pudding w/protein powder tuna w/mayo refried beans with cheese and a little sourcream I made some chicken with veggies tonight and I blended the chicken with a little of the broth and threw in a couple of carrots. I didn't think I would be able to eat blended meats, but it wasn't bad I plan on trying canned chicken w/mayo eggsalad corned beef hash (the meet is really fine and you can mash up the potatos) salsa and cottage cheese (heated a little) I've been liking my chocolate shake with a little banana and 1T peanut butter. I have a lot of smoothie recipes, so I'll be drinking these, but I too would like more ideas of hot things to eat for dinner. A friend suggested cream of wheat with parmesean cheese (she said the cream of wheat kind of tasted like pasta). Good Luck, Suzanne

If I were you, I'd go to the Dec or Jan board and ask this since they are all on solid foods now. (Select month from list on upper left column). I'd like to find out too since I'm starting that phase within a few days myself!

I was able to eat a hot dog (so good!) also, the Morning Star Chik Patties have been really good and easy to get down. I also have had chicken salad on wheat thins (if you are ready for some carbs). I also have heard that Melba toast is good to start off with, but for some reason it doesn't sit well with me yet. Try some Quiche too. Hope that helps a little!
