Jodi, I had my surgery the same day and I've been at 25 lbs. for over a week. I'm even eating less than what I was! But I'm glad you wrote and for those whose doctor gave them the answer about this. I'm part of a clinical study along with my surgery and I go back to the hospital tomorrow afternoon for an overnight stay with a day of being a speciman on Wednesday. It will be interesting to see how much I have lost since I was there a week before my surgery until now. I know I lost about 5 lbs. before the surgery, so we'll see what their scale says tomorrow. But you are not alone! We will make it!! Right there with you, pal... Susie

Five weeks out, and I haven't lost a pound in a week. My nutritionist just said "Fluid, protein and exercise."

I am so sorry you are feeling sad.... I have definately had plenty of those moments myself... You stay strong and keep up a positive attitude... I know it's frustruating and discouraging when you reach a "plateau" because I have been there for about 2 weeks now! You feel like okay," I am not eating that much, I am excersizing, drinking my water , taking my vitamins, and also doing the protein shakes, so why am I not losing weight?" We will all get through this and be so happy with our results. It is going to take time, but we will lose it! Give yourself some credit and congratulate yourself for all you 've lost so farHang in there girl, and know that we are all in this together!! Bonnie

THanks everyone! I wish I could say that today was a losing day for me, but it wasn't! Actually, I am the same...with each passing day I am having trouble taking in enough protein and fluid. I have turned excercise into my depression vice, so I am good there, but REALLY struggling with the nutrition thing because I am feeling SO nausiated! Probably need to eat more to make that feeling go away...you know a habit they don't teach you about BEFORE surgery?? The habit of, if I am not losing, I must be eating to much. That is something I am struggling with, I am tryingi though. I am grateful to each and everyone of you who have supported me and all I can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH! I do truly love this site because at least I know I am not alone!! Blessings and encouragement to all of you and again.....THANKS FOR BEING THERE!! I will keep you posted! JK

Here is a message I posted for someone else this morning....My advice, stop weighing yourself! My nutritionist said that after a big loss the body will stop losing, do a body check to make sure eveything is working ok and then you will start to lose again. This process happens over and over again. I don't weigh myself at all. I got weighed 2 weeks post op and will probably not get weighed again until I either see my primary or the surgeon in July. I figure I can't gain so why stress over it, besides my clothes are getting bigger on me, so I am happy. Do what you are suppose to do and hang in there. Good Luck!
