Weight gain in the first month???
I had lost 30 pounds in the first two weeks after WLS. Now in the 3rd wee****ep fluctating. Is this normal?? Am I suppose to gain and lose and gain and lose? Or should I just throw my scale away! LOL I have been very positive about this big life change.. NEVER once asked why did I do this!! I want to live to see my grandchildren graduate college. (I don't have any grandchildren yet... that's the point!!) I have been feeling better than I have in many years, my blood sugars are almost normal.. only have a few aches and pains when I exercise. I know this is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my family. I just hope there is no way that I will stop losing weight??? I am not overeating, I have not even thrown up at all!!!! I may not get all the protein I am suppose to every day. If anyone is going through or have gone through weight gain in the first month please help me out!!! Thanks.

I am so glad I am not the only one this has happened to. Two weeks out I had lost 23 lbs, then last week I GAINED 5 lbs!!!!! Then I lost it this week and more. Surgeon, dietician and others on here said it's NORMAL. And I'm like - in the FIRST month?? No way!! But our bodies go into shock at dramatic weight loss and HOLD ONTO water and protein and stuff and try to preserve it. It's our bodies way of "protecting" us. Ha! So don't freak out. And I know this is easier said than done, but do NOT weigh yourself MORE than once a week. Otherwise you'll get down and depressed and we shouldn't let the scale DICTATE our moods Weigh yourself ONCE a week (preferably on your surgery day) and also measure yourself. But it's normal to fluctuate. I had people tell me next week to get used to it because it happens even down the line and often during weight loss. I'm like, I totally do not want to hear that. but people agreed. I'm like great. So don't freak out if scale goes up. YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!! Just hang in there!
