Janice... sounds like you either ate too fast or too much. One little bite can make a huge difference. I have WLS 3/11/05 and I lost 30 pounds the first 2 weeks... then my weight loss has slowed. I am not sure but depending on the day, I even gain a pound back. I am going to stop getting on the scales so much! As far as the pain, just try to eat slower. Let your body tell you when it is done! Good luck!!! Tammy Brown

Janice, I have experienced the same thing but I have noticed it is when I either eat too fast, or that I didnt chew good enough and it went down too big. Dont worry, it will go away and besides, it is a sign to not do it again. That is what I have learned the pouch is, it teaches me what I can and cannot have. Good luck....D'Lynn

That happens to me when I drink too close to my eating time or I eat too fast. I had to regurgitate it back up to feel better. But now I time myself so I don't drink too close to eating times and I try to eat much, much slower (like one bite a minute - it's hard - especially with our little, bitty bites). Congrats on losing 21 lbs!! WOW!!! That is awesome!!! Keep up the good work! You rock!

Yep, it's either too fast or too much. Weight til you get the 'mucous' stuff, like you are frothing. If the pouch is full, you'll feel very uncomfortable, kind of like things are stuck and though you want to throw up, it doesn't come up. My eyes even water. I've eaten too fast a couple of times. It's miserable for about 10-15 minutes, I'm never eating eggs again! Both times same food.

Last Saturday I was down 49 pounds in 4 weeks. My loss dramatically slowed in the last week (I only lost 4 pounds last week). I am trying to get in more liquids and more protein to see if I can kick it in gear again and lose quicker. But I'm not weighing myself except once a week so I'll see on Friday how my experiment went. The only problem I had eating was when I went to a restaurant for lunch and had scrambled eggs and breakfast potatoes. I must have eaten them too fast because I have eaten eggs several times and mashed potatoes twice with no problem. For some reason this time I felt like it got stuck trying to enter my pouch, then I started feeling hot and thought it was over with. I quit eating and it was gone in 15 minutes or so. Lesson learned, slow down! Good luck! Chris S.

Hi Janice The sensation you describe sounds like what you experience when you are "dumping." It may have been you ate too fast, too much, or the wrong thing. That's what can cause you to dump.

I had surgery three weeks, four days ago and am -24. Seems a little slow, especially since I am walking my butt off (literally I would say) but oh well. I'm pretty happy with 24!
